Which visa? HELP! Internship or J1 work??

    Hey everyone!

    So i go an "internship" (paid) in a laboratory in a university in NYC this summer!

    I'm currently in my 3rd year of 4 of my degree in science in TCD.

    Can I do the normal J1 visa or does it have to be the internship visa?

    Would appreciate any info you guys might have! :D:D

    Apparently you can cannot get a Summer J1 visa IF the job is in your field of study. Not sure if this is true. Cannot get clarification. :/
