Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Rosenborg notably upping the pressure in midfield.

Dundalk players not adapting and wanting too much time on the ball. It'll lead to a goal if they're not careful.

Disgraceful decision by the referee could have resulted in a goal.
You get the feeling that it's only a matter of time before Rosenborg get another.

Yeah it's hard to see Rosenberg not scoring again.

Few home team decisions there in last few minutes.

    What a chance

Backs to the wall for Dundalk at this stage, they have not looked like scoring at all in this second half, looks like some of their players are getting tired now too. Still, one goal is all they need.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,806 ✭✭✭corny

Rosenborg are a very fit team but they lack quality. Dundalk finding hard to match their energy but hardly leaking chances because of it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,496 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Their defender was allowed charge it down despite the ball not being touched. Should be retaken

I know it nearly came off but I hate those 'training ground' free kick routines.

The big mallet head on Gartland is doing some damage tonight.

some result if dundalk can pull it off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,120 ✭✭✭justshane

If it went to penaltys I wouldn't back Rogers to make a save. Hope I'm wrong.

I remember some other gimpy twipster making a bet like this when we played Rosenborg in Norway. C'mon Dundalk.

    Bet lost lol

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I was about to say result is fair and then that.

    Will it come again?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,806 ✭✭✭corny

They seem troubled by balls into the box. I know its not the Dundalk way but lump it up to Gartland and Kilduff and look for the scraps.

Rosenberg really aren't very good at the back.

Because more often than not they end in disaster and ruin a decent scoring opportunity. That free came off as well as it could have but still would have been a massive goalkeeping error had he been beaten at his near post.

Why does Kenny persist with Rogers? He really is a poor keeper

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,806 ✭✭✭corny

George Hamilton should be forced into retirement.

    True, but no alternatives available.

Really feels like a wasted opportunity.

So you're saying that a club with a ton of money already has the best keeper in the league. Money talks

Disappointed. Rosenborg not much to write home about.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,443 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hammer Archer

I'm baffled at how Kenny didn't invest in another keeper before the start of the season. He was a big reason why they didn't reach the knockout stages last year.

Do Dundalk go into europa quals now?

Who's the best keeper in the league? Supple in my opinion but he didn't want to go apparently.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,806 ✭✭✭corny

Rosenborg have run the legs off Dundalk. Jensen and Midtsjo are still running around like its the first minute.

    No, out of Europe.

I like Cherrie. Excellent any time I've seen him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,120 ✭✭✭justshane

George Hamilton is annoying, such a small mentality as if we achieved a moral victory by just losing to one goal.

Me too actually, Kenny never fancied him though.

They were unlucky but I think tonight was really a great opportunity to progress, Rosenborg were only ok.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,071 ✭✭✭user2011

Rodgers, fcuksake, spinless putting it mildly. How he doesn't go in at the attackers feet is unreal.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,067 ✭✭✭✭martingriff

Dundalk went 2 defensive in 2nd half were always allowing Rosenborg on them. The game plan of the 2nd half changed for some reason as it was working

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,496 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

If somebody said 2/3 years ago that you'd feel deflated about a LOI team going out to Rosenborg, I'd have said they're mad. That was an opportunity for sure, defensive howlers cost them

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,268 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

You could really hear the hurt in kennys voice in that interview.

A pity the RTE folk couldnt even bother to wish good luck to the other Irish teams in Europe tomorrow.

We should have beaten them 3 years ago. They aren't a great side.

A lack of belief is what killed us in 2014. That and Danny North trying a fancy outside of the boot finish when 1v1..

Sadly it's the reality of the gap in the clubs.

    Crowds, revenue, facilities....

I think they mentioned both game once if not twice in the latter stages of the second half. 2 bad they are not going to be shown
