Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Delighted for him and great to see.......but if ONeill had been down in Richmond on Friday he wouldnt have been impressed.

Don't have him in the box for defending set pieces anyway! :D

Maldron hotel, literally across the road.

Limerick FC Chairman Pat O’Sullivan said at a meeting midweek that if nobody backs the club financially that Limerick will be part-time next season. That’s all well and good if we’re relegated, but if we stay up then it’ll just be delaying the inevitable.

This morning I read that his company, Galtee Fuels, has gone into voluntary liquidation also.

I do drink in the Glasshouse the odd time which is right at the luas stop at the Square SC, nice lil hotel bar, lovely food. Not much of a match day atmosphere but nearby alternative to the Maldron which would be staunchly Rovers.

Watching the Cork goal back there, it was probably the long ball take down and control that impressed O'Neill rather than the goal itself.

You think long ball take-downs are the future?

You think we can beat teams on long ball take-downs rather than goals?

You might be right. Denmark are in for a shock next time we play them and we win by 5 long ball take-downs to 1.

If Shane Long plays and he does a Long ball take-down do you think it might be worth more than a regular long ball take-down?

    :)

Makdron hotel were terrific for Dundalk fans during the Europa League matches, even put up black, white and red balloons in the bar and lobby areas.

Cut forward to the EA Cup final last year, and Dundalk fans were barred from the hotel. If you have the time look for somewhere else.

We were trouncing teams at home, playing nice football, on a lovely pitch.

Now we are getting beaten at home, playing woeful hoofball, on an awful pitch.

    It's not a mystery.

The one man that was willing to part with his money isn't going to do so any more, so I don't see any improvement in things any time soon.

EDIT: You can add to that the fact that the group that run the Markets Field are not really all that concerned at all about Limerick FC or football in general. This attitude has brought about some fairly public response from our more vocal fans, and this has soured things between landlord, club, and fans.

Part time is a given, can't see anyone looking to get involved while POS and the current board are still there. Can see any new people looking to get involved starting a fresh with a new entity.

Has been some off the field ****e that's turned a few supporters away from the matches as well as lads who helped out with the club. Think bar the Bohs match when there was 2,000 the only other home games to pass 1,000 people were Cork and Shams who brought maybe 400 fans. So the core support has dropped by a couple hundred cause I'd of having it at maybe 1000 people.

Dont mind the bitter Shell's fan. He is jealous that even when they had their moment a decade or so ago that no one gave enough of a crap about to support them then either. As a result they spend their time devising ways of being bitter and obnoxious towards fans of other clubs while trying to hold some sort of moral high ground about something. Rotten club.

Always the issue that crops up in this League tbf - a one man show never works.

Isn’t Waterford a one man show?

And to be fair Dundalk had only two owners. (Ok that’s more than one :))

TBF, he's not far off with that comment. I find Shels fans to be some of the most embittered and haughty fans going. Very holier than thou.

Their gimp fans chanted "you let your club die" at our games more than supporting their own team.

Any reason why Drogheda are on a -4 handicap Vs Athlone tonight?

Because Athlone are an absolute horror show of a trainwreck of a team and club?

We gave them their only point this year. I'm just glad someone else's goal difference has been kept down a bit!

I’d have no interest in wading in here if you hadn’t attacked first but eh it’s not an inaccurate statement is it?

Not the Tolka game recently, back when we last played you in 2014 in Terryland. It was so cringeworthy honestly and small time - as if there was some rivalry or that we actually give a shíte what Shels fans think.

Enjoyed trucking you in the play-offs.

The haughty / holier than thou stuff, just follow a Shels fan on twitter. Insufferable lot.

A draw was probably a fair result in Tallaght tonight, Waterford the much better team in the first half and Rovers looked like they had no idea how to play against their diamond midfield, what happened with the Holohan goal? It looked like the keeper made a complete howler and misjudged the flight of the ball but maybe it took a deflection?

Second half Rovers changed their shape and made a double sub at HT, looked much better and dominated the second half, lovely bit of play by Dan Carr down the left and crossed it in for a Burke header. Carr played superb when he came on and completely changed the Rovers performance. Really impressed with Bastien Hery any time I have seen him play thought he was very good tonight.

Strange game at Terryland Park tonight, if we won 5-0, it wouldn't have been an unjust scoreline. UCD were poor and we played very well for a change.
