Its probably not a bad idea to do that at all.

I have to say I was taken very seriously by my GP the minute I said my cycles had gone a bit irregular. It took a while to find the reason, we thought it was PCOS first. But she did a full blood screen the first day I went in (I was there for a smear). Turned out I have diminished ovarian reserve and am getting perimenopausal symptoms. And we hadn't even been properly trying yet.

Thanks a mill! Possible mild pcos have to have a mri and bloods to confirm. It also threw up i may possibly be too tight down there so to speak either the muscles contract too much or there is a partivularly tough hymen that will have to be surgically removed. Physio first to see does that help! Highly recommend dr sharon moss in the beacon. Hope everyone else is having more success

Great you got a plan! Sharon is fab! Ill be back with her if we struggle past the 8 month mark.

That's sounds like it was a productive visit and there is a plan ahead which is great.

Totally agree, the 35 age limit is ridiculous as I'm 33 but luckily my gp is really proactive as I've had surgery in the past for cysts so I'm going back after 7 months if nothing happening. But do see a consultant if you want to get the ball rolling. Sharon moss is fab in the beacon clinic

Thanks Scouse, I'm the same age so don't want to waste to much time. Any advice whether it would be better to go the the gp first and then maybe a referral or just go straight to a fertility clinic for the initial assessment? I'm thinking my gp will just do the blood (which I have had done in the past) so might be better to go for full screen with the specialists? Does that gyn do those assessments?

You can just ring them up and go to them but you can also go through your gp. But it depends how good you gp is, some are fab bloods, scans and are clued in. She will assess you and advise you on treatment as you might not need fertility as such it could be something else. But she can advise either way.

You can get Day 3 and 21 tests done with GP and other fertility testing done at one of the fertility clinics. You can bring along the results of the Day 3 and 21 tests too if you wish.

Thanks ladies, ye are a mine of such useful info. Do you have any experience of the Merrion Clinic? Location for that is handy so just wondered.
Going the gyn route might be an a good start as I'm pretty sure if there is any problem it's on my end not the OH.

I must definitely look into options as well in the Southern half of the country. Based in Cork. Beacon are supposed to be brilliant but a bit far for me to travel. GP wants me to wait but its good to know I can self refer to if needs be.

I know of girls who went to the merrion and self referred. Haven't heard a bad word. I'll stick with Sharon moss although I live outside Dublin now. But it's great to have a plan even if it's in your head. They all do bloods the gp and clinics so just how you want to proceed.

I just tried to call Dr Moss but the message says that you need a referral to see any gynae in the Women's clinic

An opportunity to speak to gp and see about bloods then or just ask for straight referral. She use to take direct patients but she's really busy so could have changed. Especially after Kent Ayers left to do treatments. But she is fab but check out merrion and sed who you feel comfortable with.

We thought we had missed the ovulation this month, as per the tracker it was due about the 18th but the opk tests showed up negative.

We had DTD a couple of times before the ovulation due date anyway. Since early last week her boobs have been very tender, I think they have gotten bigger and she has been absolutely whacked with tiredness and she was experiencing crampy feelings last week.

AF is due this weekend so we are going to try and hold off doing a pregnancy test, had to not get the hopes up though!

I'm beyond confused at this stage. I've been tracking my cycle since January with the FF App and for January and February it was regular 28 day cycle. My period was due 21 March and still no sign of it. I did a Pregnancy Test on Tuesday 22 and Friday 25 March and both were negative. As of today, I'm over a week late. No symptoms, no pains, cramps, spotting, sore boobs.
I wish my period would just arrive so we can concentrate on the next cycle.

Ok so I will give you a bit of background i Have pcos and im overweight by couple stone. Iv recently lost 2 stone (Again)
It took us around 4 years of on/off trying to concieve with my Son. Since i was a teen my periods rarely came like maybe once or twice a year if i was lucky enough. Now since i have been eating alot of wholefoods and not processed my periods have been coming around every 28-34 days. (which is amazing for me ) I am day 38 today. for over a week now i have been soo tired , breaking out in spots bigtime, My boobs have been really heavy for the last week and now since yesterday my nipples have gotten hard and sensitive. I have took a tesco pregnancy test and a cheapie dealz pound shop test and both have been negative.
Just wondering what people think do yous think i could still be pregnant? The last day we had sex was not monday but monday before so that was 21st march and we dtd regurally from my last period till then.. Im so impatient i wish a pregnancy test would come up positive or my period comes so we can start the month again haha..

Whats the best pregnancy tests to use ?

Same story here, bfn but no Af! Just want it so I can move on!

I thought I was regular until I started ttc and my cycle varies between 26-32 days, it's very frustrating. You could test again though since you haven't taken one for 5 days.

We're booked into Merrion Fertility, I'm going tomorrow for bloods and scan and the OH is going in next week and we have our appoint with the doc scheduled for next Friday. Didn't expect it to happen so quick but delighted (and nervous) that it's happening.

Yeah we've been trying 6 months now. I only bypassed the gp as she is on holidays this week and didn't want to meet the locum, I thought it would take longer to get an appointment in the clinic so was thinking I might pop into her but don't think there is any need now as the clinic will do all the bloods.

Just a quick note that it can be cheaper to get bloods done through your GP. They wont be able to do everything though.

Gosh things are really taking off on here! Ruailebuaile I think you are dead right to go. It def gives you more structure and makes you feel like you are doung something. I have endometriosis and am going for natural follicle tracking with my clinic this month actually delighted they are taking it seriously and giving me a helping hand!

We probably could have waited about longer but for peace of mind I'm happy that we are going. If we both get the all clear great, if not at least we haven't wasted time and will give us space to decide on next steps. There are a few other circumstances that made me not wait too much longer - bit slow to divulge here, which is odd as I feel I'm among friends!

Scouse give yourself the six months if you can and at least you are in the system with Dr Moss in case you need to see her.

Yeah I'm the same would rather know and I've a history I'd be mindful of. Your right to even get peace of mind or a plan.
I'll be waiting 6 months then see what the plan is then, if we still haven't had the bfp.

We weren't able to resist doing a test.

We got a little blue +!!!!!!



We reckon about two weeks gone or so, she had an appointment booked with her gp for next Tuesday anyway as she was freaking out a bit about not conceiving and wanted to go and chat to her. Going to get one of the digital tests tomorrow.

Feeling overjoyed and absolutely bloody terrified, and a little bit weepy for the child we lost.

Most definitely! Think its vaginismus is what she suspects I have but she didn't explicitly say more focused on getting the physio end sorted to make sure its that and not an extra thick hymen. When are you due back to her scouse?

I'm not with her until I need her really. Had the implanon removed and she wanted us to try and see how we get on. As the effects of the implanon aren't to known. But I'll be back to her in s couple of months anyway. She has a fab temprement.
The physio and plan she has given sound like a great start.

Just reading back through the last few posts, good on you all lots of great proactively going on! Once we get to the six month mark will definitely be going down that route too of making an apt with a fertility clinic. Ruaile buile great to know you didnt have a long wait for apt!

I've been temping religiously this cycle, and for some reason fertility friend thinks I ovulated 6 days ago (3 days after my period finished) based solely on temps. Haven't had any other signs of ovulation so it'll be interesting to see if it's right. :-/

I know what you mean about temping religiously toots. I got my LH surge Tuesday so dtd for those 2 days. Then my temperature went from 36.17 yesterday to 36.58 today so going on that basis I guess I've already ovulated. It's so hard to know! I'm new to this temping business!! Just wondering whether I should try again today? OH is a bit knackered though he says!

Another bfn today. 5 weeks since the implanon removal, and 17 dpo. Just want Af so u can start properly.
Thinking of a new reflexology/homeopathic regime so will be looking into that tomorrow.
