Since the overclocking forum is always very quiet I thought id get more joy over here.

I have had my i5 2500K overclocked to 4.5ghz on and off the last year or so with no issues.
Lately my system is starting to freeze [not a BSOD] just a freeze but never when gaming, temps seem fine, pc is very clean I clean it out regularly with an electric blower, always make sure heatsink on cpu cooler fan is clean and dust free etc.

When back at stock speeds there are no issues at all.

I find it strange that's it only happens when either idling on desktop, browsing or when I close down a game after playing but never when actually playing games.
    Running windows 10 64 bit, i5 2500k, asus P8P67 rev 3.0 mobo.
    Any ideas?

i have a 2600k oc'ed to 4.5ghz also - i saw similar behaviour which i fixed by increasing vcore slightly and running prime95 to test stability

I'd say when idle vdroop is dropping vcore to borderline stable so maybe raising vcore one notch or adjust vdroop settings.
