Quality has certainly fallen this year.

The age of contestants also seems to have reduced.

Surprised that people still.enter considering the lack of success of previous winners.

Also surprised that people still see it as a way to musical success.

I doubt they do, I know 2 people who entered it as just a bit of fun (the judges didn't turn around in either case).

That's the problem isn't it. Nobody actually takes it seriously anymore. As some have said here its gotten progressively worse over the last few years.

And I don't agree that the drag act singer was good. He was very average but the best of a very bad lot. I think they need to offer money to get some experienced singers on board. The winner of this show gets an album deal ffs.

It was almost like they wanted to shock us but hardly shocking these days.

Just happened to turn this on when that young fella Luke came on, would be great if he got noticed through it and got a contract.

He might be better off if he didn't win though because the winner seems to disappear into thin air never to be heard of again.

The runners up don't care that much better, except the pregnant traveller girl, who RTÉ can't seem to get enough of.

I was about to write the same thing. While she was nothing special she was by far a better singer.

Just catching up on it now and saw me behind my future hubby Bressie when he was talking about Ciaran. It didn't come as well across on tv but Ciaran live made the hairs stand on you. He was breathtaking. He is my winner.

Watching Moylan now and was sitting beside her mum's boyfriend during the battles and she is defo one to watch.

Being a good singer doesn't mean getting picked.

I honestly cant remember 1 single performance from the show this year (or last year)

The girl who just sang 'huw deep is your love ' was good.

In general I think the really good singers stayed at home and avoided this show
