Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I actually managed to lose weight somehow!

But I have no idea how much and don't particularly care. I will never understand why people are so hung up on weight and what they should or shouldn't eat.

The best attitude to have in my mind is to just relax, enjoy your food, eat what you want and exercise accordingly.

Wasn't on top form in the weeks running up to December & was properly sick for 3 weeks up to & over Christmas & New Year - its all ok being healthy & abstaining but its no fun not being able to eat at all! Enjoy the evenings out & memories of good company & food consumed ! tomorrow's another day & you can always loose the pounds - far better to have had a good Christmas & a few nice nights out : ) I lost 3/4 of a stone but would rather have had the craic & conviviality !

About 1.5kg, but that's a combination of normal pregnant lady weight gain and a few too many Quality Street!

    I maintained my weight.

Seems that this thread is turning into, "how much weight did you lose over christmas?"

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 34,809 ✭✭✭✭smash

I bought 5 new shirts and all of them are just a little bit too small. That'll give me the kick up the arse I need to drop the xmas belly.*

*There's a chance I might have had the xmas belly since 2013 so it's about time it fecked off

I'm the exact same, but I know for a fact I lost muscle and gained fat. Screw you December, screw you.

I lost some weight. Excessive drinking leads to whole days in bed of not eating in the fetal position with a hangover.

I gained some, I don't know how much because I don't weight myself. The clothing still fits and I am sick of rubbish by this stage, so it should go down a bit soon.

Normally I do gain weight over the festive period, a combination of not training and over-indulging in rich food. However a bad cough suppressed my appetite so I actually lost 2 Kg. My cough is clearing up and I'm back training tonight so hopefully I can keep this weight off and possibly lose another bit to reach my ideal weight. It's not vanity, at my age it's all about prolonging the knees!

Furthermore, people who lost weight did not do Christmas properly!

Also went up few pounds myself.

All clothes still fit the same as they always did. That's a good sign cos I NEVER weigh myself!

    We know instinctively don't we?

Didn't go mad over Christmas, just had a few treats like garlicky creamy spuds and a fk off breakfast every day. What treats they were.

I'm lucky in that I don't like sweet things. So come on over for loads of chocs if you are interested.

Must get moving a bit more now. Weather is great really.

Maybe 1 or 2. More concerned about the BP. Probably due to the inactivity, rather than greed.

Checked this morning and it's only 0.64kg. BP was normal also. The readings I took last week just seem to have been anomalies.

F@cking Weightwatchers, and their new SmartPoints plan. They're scam artists. I have only gotten used to the last pro-points system, and now they've changed it again. The only good thing is that they have a new scheme in place, where if you lose 10 pounds over the next 8 weeks, they'll give you a €50 shopping voucher !!! I can imagine myself at the start of week 8, downing a can of rancid tuna and some rotten eggs in order to heave my way to the prize

Enough to make the full length mirror I got myself as a Christmas gift seem like a very bad idea .Now I don't need the weighing scales anymore,I can taunt myself with my own reflection everytime I glane idly to the left in my room. :o
