    Or Hammill is nearly wrapped

Why that picture of his robe? Bit early to kill him but it would rhyme with what's gone before on many levels.

Because it's the last time he'll wear it for this movie. It's much more likely that Hammill is nearly done shooting than the director would tweet a cryptic clue to such a massive spoiler.

Awh booo to killing off Skywalker in the next film! Would much prefer to see him simply losing the robes in favour of something more badasss to fight in.

Was hoping to see Skywalker take on Snoke but i guess it's inevitable and totally predictable that Kylo Ren is going to end up doing that isn't it

    sake...

there's no way he's going to tweet that, he just means he's nearly wrapped that's all.

Think there's a little bit of reading wayyyy too much into a single, offhand Twitter post. Mark Hamill's obviously nearly finished his portion of the shoot, that's all. Ockham's Razor 'n all that.

Star Wars celebration London is in two weeks. Reckon we'll get a title then?
    Or even some footage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,501 ✭✭✭✭Slydice

Has there ever been a 'celebrity' more grateful and gracious about his luck or position? i dont think so.

That said, he wanted 20,000£ to take part in justin lee collins 'bring back star wars' but i understood that at the time...

must rewatch that..Carrie fisher was priceless in it.

    The opening crawl has leaked:
It is a dark time for the
    Rebellion Resistance. Although the Death
    Star
    Starkiller Base has been destroyed,
Imperial First Order troops have driven the
Rebel Resistance forces from their hidden
    base and pursued them across
    the galaxy.

Evading the dreaded Imperial First Order
    Starfleet, a group of freedom
fighters led by Luke Rey Skywalker
    has established a new secret
base on the remote ice lava world
    of Hoth Thoth.

The evil lord Darth Vader Kylo,
    obsessed with finding young
    Skywalker, has dispatched
    thousands of remote probes into
    the far reaches of space....

    ok spoiler time
just read the 4 Shattered empire comics, set right after the Endor victory..Poes mom and dad are central and Poes mom goes on a mission with Luke to break into an Imperial base to rescue 2 tree saplings the emperor had in hiding..they're force trees, last 2 saplings of the force tree at the jedi temple on Coruscant...

so that big black tree we saw the falcon parked beside in those drone photos from Pinewood will obviously have some part to play in 8...also the emperor hd an operation called Cinder to be enacted in case of his death, where all remaining imperial fleet assets were to attack certain planets and systems..naboo being one of them

Read a few of the comics now (i have two SW subscriptions now ) the artwork has been incredible in all of them, gotta say.

'...an energy field created by all living things..it surrounds us and binds us'

a tree is a living thing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,701 ✭✭✭Bacchus

What's the big deal about trees being strong with the force? For a start it's well accepted that certain relics/items are strong sources of force energy (or whatever the correct way to phrase that is) so why not a tree. Further, go back to Yoda describing the Force in Empire...
For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes.

The force creates and flows through life. A tree is a fairly good representation of that.

Yeh, but it should only be conscious beings that can control the force.

A force sensitive tree, suggests a "special" tree.

It sounds like something a two year old would come up with.

Yeah, seems pretty much in tune with the original trilogy's idea of the force to me. Yoda, says every living thing is in tune with it to varying degrees didn't he? As long as they don't start having full blown conversations with it it should be fine....

Edit: Arguably a lightsabre talking to Rey makes less sense than a tree :pac:

Maybe at the end of this trilogy, the force ghosts that will appear will be Anakin, Ben, Yoda, Luke and a sycamore.

there were was one planted in the garden of the jedi academy apparently and i think theyd more be a source of the force rather than it being sentient or having ability..

that set pic looks like a reproduction of skellig and its meant to be the first jedi temple so the tree being a source and on the same island as the temple makes sense..
