Does anyone know how much is it to go the premiere?

I heard Matt Cooper say he's going to it, no doubt they in the media get free tickets?
Similar to music dj's get tickets to concerts:(

Pretty sure the Premiere is invite and competition winners only, hence primarily going be full of media types. I saw a guy who posted the front and back of the ticket on Instagram. Was very tempted to recreate and print it but sure it's only a few more hours away until the midnight show with the real fans.

Now when i think of it, He probably got invited by yer man from Entertainment.ie slot's now extended Thurs slot from 10m -30m ;)

Now i hear Martin King from 6 o clock show is going to it, instead of superfan Mhuireann?

That sounds great, as i'd heard some cinemas are showing a double-bill no doubt for the same price as a single ticket?

I too am looking forward to hearing what the initial opinions are.

At the same time cautious of spoilers. Stupid I know as to totally avoid spoilers best not to be looking at a thread on it.

    What the fvck was that??

    No words
The greatest Star Wars you’ll ever see intercut with horrible cheap forced gags Saturday morning cartoons from India

It seems to be 5 star in reviews, i'd heard it was 93% in Rotten tomatoes & one reviewer on SkyNews had said there were 3 loud applauses & a standing ovation last night's preview!

Its the greatest star wars film ever

Intercut with the worst unnecessary bull**** cheap cartoon forced humour **** ever. EVER.

But Im at home now and simmering before the midnight show at lighthouse and it’s already settling and I’m feeling better about it.

It’s defijitely going to knock you every way imaginable. Brilliant and bad.
    It doesn’t stop.
it could lose the whole rose and Finn story and be an amazing film

Will go as far as to say he was so determined for this not be Empire he drove to the edge of the map and threw everything over and went back with his own notions. It works and when it works it works really well. When it doesn’t it’s almost embarrassing

So i'll go back to my original question back on page 137.

Is this unanimously going to be considered the greatest star wars film ever do you think? Currently 8.2 on RT (Empire has 8.9), it seems to be ranking in the top 3/4 at minimum, perhaps top 2, but even RT's headline says it's the best since ESB (not better).

TFA got overhyped initial reactions, people say its as good/better than empire, even on here back in 2015 after early viewings, but I don't think most people hold that opinion now, so it's probably too early to even ask this, we need to wait a year or two and THEN see how people rank it.

I think a lot of groupthink occurs in reviews. Especially ones that blast reviewers with previews, goodie bags, exclusives etc. Look at The Force Awakens, how did people feel about that on release vs. 6 months later?

A lot of the reviews I've seen have said, 'it's great!.. but..' and I suspect, like The Force Awakens (a film that diminishes with every watch) the 'but' will grow larger as time passes.

No harm, but I cringe when I hear of people doing these sort of things in cinema's. When did this nonsense start?

And I am a lifelong SW fan too. But no matter how great the new film is, applauding it is something I won't ever be doing.

I think people do it to be seen to be doing it.

JJ Abrams, no doubt tried to give homage to the original, but you want something fresh & new.

That was the UK audience's clapping, in which i think should only happen at Greek Opera tragedies, let's hope this isn't one

    Thought that was phenomenal..

Sets up ep 9 very well..
Little bits in the middle could be changed, but overall can't fault large bits at all..

    Easily 8/10, borderline 9

    Could have done without the
    casino storyline
and some of the humour was a bit much. But overall I really enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to another viewing.

Came out of the cinema singing the Resistence theme out loud. Love that piece of music.

Not sure why I keep watching the 3D version?Gives me a headache and things in the distance appear in double vision (probably because of the glasses not fitting over glasses properly). But the early shot of a Star Destroyer popping out of the screen and poking you in the face is always good fun.
