    Hi there

In the pic I want to find out the total number of 'nights' (right column) for each country (left column). How do I consolidate groups of numbers in a column to get a total for each group?

    For example:
In yellow - how do I add up all the numbers for Greece
In pink - how do I add up all the numbers for Hungary
In green - how do I add up all the numbers for Iceland

Obviously there's a lot of countries so would take ages to do this by hand. The reason there's multiple numbers is because there's different age demographics/male famale, etc. but I just want the total for each country

I'm wondering how I can just have something like
    Greece 25,000
    Hungary 35,000
    Iceland 20,000

    Do I use pivot tables?

    Thanks

Yes use a pivot table. Have country in your "rows" and sum of nights in the "values" wi

This isn't quite working for me

When I drop 'nights' (and also 'visits' which I want to know too), it gives me the number for duration of stay

So for Spain it should be 10,800 but it reads 468

    Am I doing something wrong?

Is the field in your pivot using a "COUNT" instead of "SUM" ?

Look in the pivot table fields and click on it.

Make sure you have the values set as "SUM" and not "count"

    Yes!

I had a feeling it was something to do with count/sum, except I was checking the the 'values' window to the left, instead of the actual 'nights' column.

    Thanks again
