Repairing my Ipod 3rd gen

I have an ipod nano 3rd Gen, the click wheel stopped responding last week.
The select still works but none of the menu, play, rewind and forward buttons do.
I've already ordered a new click wheel online and plan to repair it myself.

I've repaired my laptop screen and keyboard before and they are as good as new 6months later. If it was a touch ipod I wouldn't go near it with a barge pole. It is old but the screen, headphone jack all work perfectly so ifigure it's well worth my while spending less than E20 on some parts.
I'm going to watch a few you tube videos before i start.
I'm aware that when I open the rear panel it will not reattach and iIplan to get a new one if I'm successful in repairing the iPod.
I'm looking for any advice that people who have done this can give me. What to do/not do.
