Kate Hudson looks like 1990s Christina Aguilera dressed as a mermaid for Halloween. She has a fantastic figure but that outfit doesn't flatter her in terms of shape, flow or colour. Blah.

If it wasn't two piece it wouldn't be too bad

Didn't her mom Goldie wear something similar at an award show too

I love love love the colour on Amy Adams!!

Kate Winslets dress is ok, like something she's wore before though.

It's just being nasty to comment on her knees. They are the ones she was born with and as long as they are doing the job they were intended for that should be good enough. Why are women so nasty about other women?

Appreciate your knees, regardless of what they look like cos you'll miss them when they're gone.

My comment was pretty OTT. Meaghan looked pleasant, its just there is something about her that makes me lose all sense of rationality and become a bileful wreck. Sorz.

Going from what I've seen on the thread, Gina Rodriguez was the best dressed for me last night.

Old school Hollywood glamour, very Marilyn Monroe

Think Gaga looked great. Its good that she shows the world that she can dress in a more subtle way. (Not sure that dress could be considered subtle on anyone else mind you)

Was busy helping my boyfriend pack last night so didn't get to watch the red carpet til half 4 this morning. It was all blurry m looking at them at that time so I thought I better have a look now to make sure I didn't imagine any! There were some I really liked. I liked Jenna Dewan Tatum for some reason it kind of reminded me of the brown ombré sparkly Marchesa dress from a few years ago, probably all the sparkle! Loved the colour of Jada Pinkett Smiths dress. Thought Jennifer Lopez looked amazing but didn't love the hair. Amy Adams looked great especially the colour of the dress. I think Gina Rodriguez was best dressed for me in Zac Posen. She was perfectly styled as well.

I thought there were a lot of debs-y dresses. I know we're all supposed to live Saoirse Ronan because she's Irish but I thought she fell into that category. Hated Kate Hudson and very undecided about Jennifer Lawerence.

To me she's too short and too young for that dress

I think that it is more flattering than the white dress she wore to the Golden Globes (caveat: I know NOTHING about fashion!)

Just saw some photos of Zuhair Murad SS 2016
Show from Paris Couture week and holy god I hope there are some of them on the next few red carpets! They look amazing! Also have the SAG awards always been on a Saturday night? Just noticed it advertised on E for Saturday at 11.

    Lots of dresses here

Kiernan Shipka always wears such fab stuff for a young girl and I love the pattern on Lily Rabe's dress.

The 'Jo-leg' a term coined by Sarah Hyland on the red carpet last night!

Why aren't E doing the Baftas red carpet? They normally do! Also the Grammys are on a Monday cue a zombie Wellyd on Tuesday morning. I remember for a few years having a crazy red carpet Sunday with both the Baftas and the Grammys!

Laura Whitmore, yuck. What a horrible dress!

    3133EBB400000578-3446786-image-m-332_1455476263431.jpg
I kind of like Saoirse Ronan's dress. Not gone on the necklace with it, however!

Don't know what to make of Cate Blanchett's dress really. Top of it is lovely but don't like the bottom part!

    Kate-Winslet--a.jpg
Kate Winslet looks great! Dress is not very interesting, but she looks well.

Alicia Vikander. Dunno about that really! Not a fan of leather dresses. And I usually love what she wears..

Whitmore's make up is flawless and the turquoise is stunning on her but I hate the shape of the dress! The clevage area, the shoulders... it's all too much. Love that it has sleeves though.
Saoirse's make up doesn't look great and the dress sits an inch too low on the chest IMO. Love the necklace but not with that dress.
I quite like Cate Blanchett's dress, bit of a disconnect between bodice and skirt but it's quirky and cool on her, but I would've skipped the earrings! They're a distraction!
(Isn't it great to be pefect! :D )

Completely agree with everything you said Dee!

I like Kate Winslet's dress, she plays it safe enough most of the time but it works for her, she knows what suits her and always looks very well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,777 ✭✭✭SmallTeapot

Yeah, I'm not a fan the bottom half of Cate Blanchetts' dress....I think even plain black fabric (instead of the fluffy/shaggy feathers) would suit better to really emphasise the unreal detail on the bodice.

Don't like Saorise Ronans' heels or necklace...like the dress but agree with the above post that it seems to be sitting slightly low on top...and maybe would prefer that it was a few inches shorter in length.

Love the shoulder detail on Kate Winslets' dress. Beautiful tailoring!

I love Care Blanchett's dress! I was a bit unsure about the bottom at first but looking at it more I think it's stunning!

I actually really like Alicia Vikander's dress, it's quite daring. It's nice to see someone doing something more original.

Yeah that dress is seriously cool.

Whitmore is channeling wrong part of seventies for me. I like what Ronan is wearing separately, it's not that great together but it's not terrible either. Blanchett is stunning as usual and Kate Winslet went for her usual impeccable tailoring. Her dresses are always nice and a bit the same.

Dakota Johnson real dress not flattering to her at all, she has made quite a few blunders with red carpet appearances

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 978 ✭✭✭pemtca

Adore Cate Blanchett's. Kate Winslet safe & boring as usual.

I loved the colour on her, very vibrant - but it looked like a slip. Straps were very flimsy; I would feel very exposed in it if I were her, one false move and .....
