Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm shocked at the negative reaction to our song. It was the best one so far. The only thing I had a problem with was that his mic wasn't loud enough and he was being drowned out by the music and backing singers. I really think he did a great job.

    He couldn't hold a note!

Donny Montell? Sounds like someone who competed in New Faces in 1976.

looks like he is one half of jedward!

How is it begrudgery? Just cause the act before him was crap doesnt give his mumbly bleh a free pass.

Because it was the best song so far.

He's competing so far against one electronic song and 7 power ballads (last one was about Doner Kebabs)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,205 ✭✭✭✭hmmm

He has been waiting for this night apparently. Probably the night he loses his virginity at 28.

Lithuania looks like he is one half of Jedward

That was out of tune tripe from us.

I don't know what you were listening to but he wasn't out of tune!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

It's not begrudgery,it's fair comment on a poor song and performance in an pathetic contest.

So why are you watching this poor contest and posting and reading on the internet about it then?

The song wasn't bad at all but I couldn't make out the words.

I think the last 30 seconds could have saved Nicky. He was definitely not the worst of the night.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,941 ✭✭✭krustydoyle

Yeah but can Nicky do that??

That doesnt explain how calling out what lets be honest was mediocre at a generious rating is begrudgery

was the FYC Macedonia one singing about kebabs? - she nailed that end note :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,356 ✭✭✭✭Welsh Megaman

Even Nicky's stage set was weak...it's a no from me.

Since when has that been important in a song?

Because it wasn't mediocre. Look at what he's up against. All the songs are the same. His stood out.

    It's guaranteed to get through.

Heard the Australia song earlier today and think its quite good. She can sing anyway.

Thought Nicky did great. One of the few songs I've enjoyed tonight so far.

Nicky Byrne will be helped a lot that he is on the night of a thousand power ballads. His song, while not exceptional, was like a breath of fresh air, amongst all this faux-emotional sh1te.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,099 ✭✭✭✭Busi_Girl08

    Eurovision meets Minority Report.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,271 ✭✭✭Tandey

If Byrne wins does that mean he will be too busy and will no longer do the radio show?

Win win for us all in that situation.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,842 ✭✭✭✭Andy From Sligo

oh yeah ... I would have got hit round the head if I told my geography teacher that Australia was in Europe ...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,367 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

So if the Australians ever win this thing will it be on in OZ the following year ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 642 ✭✭✭Jamie OD

We just went all Minority Report there for a second. She's undercover. Someone in the contest is about to commit a crime!

If it's not important then why have lyrics at all?

I think Nicky did well for us.

I do like having Australia in the Eurovision.
