Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Don't get the 'depression' side of Ukraine song, it was quite a fast tune to me.

I completely missed the last 7 mins or so. What was going on with the Ukrainian song? People were saying it was political?

While I empathise with the point of this song, there's simply no denying how ridiculously out of place it is.

Well now, in fairness, the incomparable What's Another Year was about the death of Shay Healy's mother & his fathers inability to cope with the grief. It doesn't always have to be sweetness and light.

Russia into 4/7 in the betting now. Still a good bet

Ukraine's anti-Russia song is good even if it is 'They will kill you all', it's about Stalin's actions in the Crimea during WW2.

Ms. Malta's baby should be well-fed, at least. :p

Death has this much to be said for it:
You don’t have to get out of bed for it.
    Wherever you happen to be
    They bring it to you—free.

That's true tbf, though it's always the exception rather than the rule and the political nature of it just made the whole thing kind of awkward.

The song is a whinge about the Tartars getting their comuppance for siding on the wrong side.
