Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone else have anything to add?

If we finish 5th we'll quite likely be ahead on Man Utd, that'd be the 2nd time in 3 seasons, no major boast but in context of the "perch" it is of course relevant.

If Sturridge gets lucky/whatever with injuries he could shoot us to EL glory along with Coutinho & Firmino.

I hope Spurs lose tomorrow, if they do we need to win.
That would make it a ten point gap to Spurs.
We play them on April 2nd at Anfield
I would hope the gap is down to 7 by the time we meet
On paper we then have what looks by far the easiest run in
If we beat them we have 6 games to close the 4pts gap
I just hope the team is going to fight for it
Unlike last year when we just gave up

Don't do it to yourself that ship has long sailed. I reckon we can finish 5th but there will be a good gap between that and 4th.

I just want to finish above united, I'm so disheartened that we can't get ahead of them this season considering how bad they are.

That's what the players thought last year and played that way only to see major pts dropped by teams above us. That is hard to take.
I want to see us fight for it, to have a good second half of season, especially now that we finally have a full squad to choose from.

Not a hope . I'd be surprised if we finish ahead of Chelsea.

bit of a snub for sturridge he namechecked wellbeck as a striker that could return for the euros . Doesnt matter what any striker does he will stick with rooney as his main man no matter what his form is like.

I'd much prefer if Sturridge isnt even brought to the Euros to be honest, give him the whole summer to rest and improve on those injuries.

We're in a cup final in a fortnight. This can still be a successful season.

The club really is in good hands with Klopp.
“If a player only wants to come to us to play in the Champions League, short-term ideas are always silly.

“I don't like this. I don't like it when players say 'ah, but you're not in the Champions League'. We want to GET you because we want to play in the Champions League.

“If you don't want to help us, and want to jump on a running train, then go somewhere else.

“You need the right mentality and quality. That's how it is. If there's a player who won't join Liverpool because we don't play in the Champions League or will only join because we're in the Champions League, that's not for us

“Liverpool is a big name in European football and for sure there will be a few players who will say 'I want to play there'... well, until they get another offer from another club with a similar history and more money!

“'But it's 40 miles away from Liverpool so I can live in Manchester and play there and if I want to go to Liverpool I can go there instead'.

“There are a lot of players out there. We have to make the decision. If we can't convince the player then we can't. That's because of other offers or different things.

“I don't care. We will find players.”

LOL. Some teams can have a big say in the title race and the destination of the trophy. We're having a big say in the bloody relegation battle!!

I was looking forward to this game to see Sturridge and the lads back but it's ended up being one of our worst performances of the past few weeks.
You shouldn't have to do much more than get to the stadium on time to beat Villa though.

Part of Klopps strategy is that you shouldn't need to go ape**** pressing every week because you can have games like today where you just win by default because you're good and they're ****.

It's a 2nd gear performance which is all that's needed, and also a front three that have'nt played together before.
