Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Delighted to get the gap between us and Utd down to 3 points.

It's not a normal 3 points though. They are only 3 points ahead but are in contention for 4th/outsiders for the league while we're in a battle for 10th.

Villa are ****e but for the first time in a long time we had movement in the final third from more than just one player and we had some decent options off the bench !!

All there is to say is that it appears everyone basically had a day off or at worst a half-speed training session against the U-14s.

It's more about having a little more in the tank for the 3 huge games we have over the next 2 weeks.

And Kolo scored, which is lovely.

Nice to see the Villians make their own ticket prices statement around the 77 minute mark

Liverpool had six different goal scorers - one of the was Kolo Toure

Liverpool did not score after Benteke came on but Villa nearly did. Coincidence? I think not! Pity as a record winning margin away victory was not out of the question.

Villa were so ****e its very hard to make any real judgements but obviously Sturridge and Coutinho back clearly sharpened up the attack, its no surprise they brought others into play including Moreno and Henderson who both had their best games in a while.

To be fair, we have looked hopeless against teams just as bad as Villa. Today the whole team played well, and looked dangerous every time we attacked.

I'm undefeated in match threads with a ppg of 2 from three threads. One win, one draw and an abandoned match thread.
    Scored 8 and conceded 2.
I should have done them all.

    I'm raging after that match.

    Fekkin' visitors arrive at 2.30.

    2.30!

Some people need to wake up to the bigger picture:mad:

Good result, 6 different scorers, clean sheet even though I was expecting Mignolet to throw one into the net.

    First on MOTD?

True, but I don't think we have played anyone as poor as villa were today, they just didn't look interested

We should make a deal with City. Let us win the cup and we'll let you beat us in the league. If they keep their end of the bargain then we can break ours and beat them twice in 4 days.

What a good weekend of football that was... bar Arsenals late equaliser costing me the last man standing pot in work. 11 going out on United made that result even sweeter.

Its hard to know if we can read into todays performance tho. We were good but Villa are so bad... so bad. Still the movement up front was sensational at times and Danny looked awesome. If we can keep him... f*ck it i'm not doing this to myself again.

The story I heard was that some little bollix on the FAI board who Bob had forgot to sort out for tickets at Anfield at some stage swung the vote to Charlton.

Origi 5 goals from 18 appearances, 2 from 9 in the PL.
Ings 3 goals from 8 appearances, 2 from 5 in the PL.

You'd be thinking we have two good lads there, Origi would have a higher ceiling of course.

I think when his contract expires in the summer Kolo is worth keeping on as a dressing room/training ground figure.

    From the BBC-
Daniel Sturridge has the best minutes per goal ratio of any Liverpool player in Premier League history (118 mins per goal).

    When he plays hes sh1thot

True, and given Bob's health problems a few years later, probably for the best for all concerned.

But that's with the benefit of hindsight. Hard to comprehend the mentality required to pass over a triple-European-Cup-winning legend for the guy who was hounded out of St. James' Park for nearly relegating the Mags.

OK, not being entirely fair, Jack took Wednesday up from 3rd division to 2nd division, and won the 2nd division with Boro. But still...

Daniel Sturridge scores his first away goal in the PL since the 6-3 win against Cardiff in March 2014.
