Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Great to get through last night. Coutinho was brilliant. Lovren has improved so much over the last number of weeks. Origi did very well when he came on.

    The Magnificent Seven.

Are they the LFC lads that were causing sh*t and put out some sort of banner?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

I believe they had some kind of banner just not the banner some want you to believe they had.

Kind of reminds me of the film 51st state. They head up the motorway to Manchester and Robert Carlyle goes into the pub shouts something and legs it. Have to admire them. If they got a hammering they asked for it.

Great to beat Utd, a really poor Utd too but it means nothing if we can't lift the cup.

What a beautiful week. Putting Utd out of Europe and then this morning I get a date for my personal injury hearing. I can die a happy man now

    Of course it means something!

We've had 20+ years of boasting how fergie knocked us off our perch.

Let's see how they like the fall now Klopp has knocked them off their perch.

Giggs quote about how they could never fall as far or as fast as Liverpool must be sticking in his throat today.

Badly hungover today but it's a sweet, sweet pain.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,564 ✭✭✭✭OwaynOTT

Look, even if we don't lift the trophy, we can be proud of that match thread. It generate tonnes of thanks. Thanks of the day is swamped with Liverpool glee and I reckon even Klopp will be quoted it to the team as inspiration going forward.
So let's park our doubts and hitch our hopes to the hype train and shot for the moon.

Talk of us knocking anyone off anywhere is very premature. It's not their perch anymore, but we certainly aren't on it either.

There's the banner they actually hung
Phew, the way I heard it reported alludes to it being a banner of bad taste.

They were knocked off the perch when we finished above them in the PL season before last imo.

Thought they'd be in bother for the bit of crowd trouble. Didn't hear anything about chants last night.

So in the first leg, the ref didn't hear or report the loud utd chants, so UEFA couldn't take action. Last night I'm assuming the ref heard the Liverpool ones (if there were any about Munich then it deserves punishing of course) that weren't audible on TV, but didn't hear the loud murderers one again that was audible on TV? Perhaps Liverpool called UEFA names or something?

Also, how can Liverpool be charged for a late kick off at an away game?

What are they smoking over in Nyon?

    Uefa disciplinary charges

    Manchester United:
    Stairways blocked
    Crowd disturbances
    Throwing of objects

    Liverpool:
    Illicit chants
    Setting off of fireworks
    Throwing of objects
    Crowd disturbances
    Late kick-off

Liverpool, meanwhile, are looking into a tweet sent from youth team player Jordan Williams' verified Twitter account during the game.
The tweet depicted an aeroplane emoji and pair of hands clapping, in response to a video of Liverpool fans celebrating inside Old Trafford
Other Twitter users suggested Williams was mocking the 1958 Munich air disaster, in which eight United players died.
Williams, 20, deleted the tweet and later apologised, saying: "My Twitter has been hacked, I would never put anything like that to offend anyone, sorry about this."
His account has since been deactivated.

Idiot if true. "my Twitter has been hacked" rarely works as an excuse

Bad news is you're getting a fine from UEFA for starting the match thread before a United fan could.

The late kick off thing is probably the delay in the tunnel before the teams came out.

This is UEFA, who managed to charge Celtic because their fans had a political display in the same week all games observed a minutes silence for Nelson Mandela. They're full of contradictions

Thanks to Manchester Utd the game kicked off 125 minutes late.

With skrtel not playing and if Mig remains error free over 2 legs I'd give us a chance against any of the teams left in the competition.
