Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Fixtures coming thick and fast in April. I presume the Bournemouth game will be moved?

Lil' Phil gets on team of the week for the second week in a row.

And an old link for a CB, Papadopoulos, makes it as well.

Disappointing draw. I'd much prefer to avoid them and play them in a final. When teams are better than you, the last thing you want to do is have to play them in an extra game. Lessens the variance.

Yep, Bournemouth will be moved to the Sunday. Busy month, hopefully we don't get too many injuries.

We have better chance to beat them over two legs than one game on neutral ground. Klopp knows them inside out, it will be huge advantage.
Should be a very close tie, faith will play a part, we have to believe.

    Find this a defeatist attitude.

Do you not think on their day that they could beat them?

Also, think what it could do for the group confidence if they win this tie.

    fcuk that :P.

To be the best you gotta beat the best.
Dortmund won't be relishing the tie tbh. If Liverpool are up for it we can beat most teams on our day.

Yea, that's why I'd prefer to meet them in the final. Peaking for one game is a lot easier than peaking for two. I'm sure it would do wonders for their confidence if they win this tie, I just don't think that's much chance of happening.

Most teams in the premier league(and most other competitions could say the same).

We aren't in bad shape when most are available ......... Lovren & Sakho are forming a very credible partnership, Clyne more often than not is a very good right bag. Milner filled in grand for Moreno and taking Milner out of the midfield isn't too bad an idea at times.

Henderson isn't near his best but when Can performs well we get away with it, fingers crossed for the BD games Henderson is after improving.

Coutinho, Lallana, Firmino & Sturridge aren't a front 4 that the BD defence will relish facing.

Mig is Mig, can be woeful but such is our lot at the moment.

With no brainfarts we have a decent enough chance imo of getting something in Germany, BD are 4/7 to win their home leg in Bookmaker land.

Mig, Henderson & Sturridge have the ghosts of 2013/2014 to exorcise.
Lallana, Clyne & Lovren will be playing at a level they've aspired to for years.
Milner has a wealth of experience & both Firmino and Coutinho are matchwinners on their day, I'm very much looking forward to seeing how good this team can show us they are now that they've gelled together and gotten used to Klopp's reign over the last 5/6 months.

It doesn't matter at this stage how bad Lovren was, how many pts Mig cost us over the season or how injured Sturridge was if they get past BD and go on to win the EL :)

Interesting game being shown on BT, Schalke V Mönchengladbach with 2 players we've been heavily linked with (Xhaka & Sane) and 1 player on the way (Matip) playing.

Like the look of Xhaka, playing in that deep role Gerrard played in 13/14, slots in to CB when needed. Always looking for a pass and looking to pass forward every time he gets it. Reminds me of Sakho a little in that he's left footed and fizzes the ball into a team mates feet. He's the captain too and looks to be showing leadership qualities by giving directions on the pitch, something we lack.

He'd be a serious signing. Himself and Can in the middle would be exactly what we lack.

    Just for the laughs:D

'I am not a dirty player', says Fellaini.

'It just happens by accident 3 or 4 times in every game that I elbow an opposition player in the head', he didn't say.:pac:

Didn't see the game but saw the Mainz v Schalke game, the keeper Ralf Fährmann impressed me I have to say. Probably be cheaper than the name we've seen linked so far.

Dortmund away flights booked, going to be a good one. Sure if we are going to win it we will have to play them at some stage, at least this way we will get another trip to Germany. You just cant beat euro aways to Germany.

Pardew is best ignored. Meanwhile its typical to see that Everton can't be arsed to help Liverpool!

Unpopular perhaps, but I agree with Pards that any touch in that box shouldn't necessarily be a penalty.

Agree with you that not every contact in the box deserves a penalty, but until refs start giving frees and penalties even when players stay on their feet nothing will change. It's mad to think players are going to stay on their feet if there is the slightest contact, at the moment the only way a player is getting a free or penalty is if they hit the deck.

I like how Pardew strains to point out that "these last few fixtures are all that matter", right after spending almost all of the column bemoaning prior penalty decisions.

Agree totally. You'd sometimes see a player be clipped, try and stay on his feet and fire off a skewed shot and the referee does nothing. These are the lads who should be given penalties. The advantage rule should apply inside the box as well as elsewhere on the pitch.

Once he's back for Dortmund it's not so bad. Didn't play in the last game against Southampton and we won 6-1 anyway.

My favourite line in his column comes just before he starts talking about the penalty v Liverpool:

"Enough has been said about the late penalty decision"

...then proceeds to talk about it
