Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Got another game in Wednesday by the way!

FA Cup replay on BT Sport.

just have to hope Exeter don't get too many corners.

    Mig
    Randall Kolo Ilori Smith
    Can Allen
    Texeira
    ----Ibe--Ojo--Kent

Ward, Mcguire, Enrique, Milner, Brannagan, Sinclair, Benteke

Klopp remarked most of the same team will go again, I'd be amazed if caulker dosent start either.

    ward
    Randall--caulker--Ilori--smith
    Allen--brannagan
    Kent
    tex
    ojo
    benteke

Wouldn't have Enrique in stands either tbh.

By jesus Enrique was bad in that match. I reckon caulker will get a run out against them

Caulker can't play because he wasn't a Liverpool player for the original game.

Has the transfer committee situation changed? BR (possibly covering his back, but I really dont think he wanted Mario) talking in the media about how he wanted to Sanchez and Dele Alli and that Mario was more or less forced upon him. I suspect that is common knowledge but it's concerning that the mgr doesnt have the final say and a bunch of non football men have a big input.

If Klopp has to work with this nonsense system we will not progress.

The TC may not be perfect but it's still better than having blind faith in one man's judgement.
    Well that's an understatement.

Honestly, I think the transfer committee must have been one of the worst things that has happen to this club in terms of recruitment that this club has ever seen. Comoli's reign wasn't much better - but at least he brought in Suarez, had an actual strategy (even if it was wrong) and was accountable for his failure. At least we could identify the problem there. With this ridiculous committee, you get blame being spread around with nothing done.

In light of intermediate results I'd be really annoyed if that was now the case. I expect a decent few changes, but 5/6 senior players need to start this one imo.

    Okay who did that then?

    I wuoldnt think so really.

Not sure but if Ward is eligible he should play.

Smith at left back and Randall at right back. Centre back will possibly be Ilori & Kolo

Allen in Centre mid with Brannagan. Texieria with Ojo and Kent behind Benteke

The likes of Ibe, Lallana, Firmino on the bench then as security

Boards, a broken site prone to bouts of working.

At least it doesn't show up in the stands at Anfield.

They say Long is a 1 in 4 striker but I'd say nearly half of those games were on the wing, he could get 12-15 goals in a decent team I think

Wow, that's an unbelievable stat. Keeper at fault or just very easy chances due to bad defending I wonder.....

What is the thinking behind Mignolet's new deal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

    Signed until 2021. Jaysis.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,740 ✭✭✭✭MD1990

hopefully he can improve. But at present he isn't good enough. Doesn't have the presence to be a keeper at a big club.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,280 ✭✭✭Glico Man

Well, hopefully after this summer is over, he keeps himself warm on the bench until then...

We are the club that awards mediocrity. You only have to look at DDG, Cech and Butland yesterday to see the value of a good goalkeeper.

Wasn't the Dortmund keeper, Weidenfeller, a bit of a disaster on his day too? Might be Klopp's achilles heel!

I'd hope it's to er preserve his market value....:pac:

    No idea otherwise.

Yeah, himself and more so, Schmelzer, were not good at the best of times.

As expected Allan has joined Belgian Jupiler League side Sint-Truidense for the rest of the season

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,586 ✭✭✭jaykay74

Was he close to being out of contract or something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,037 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Reeaalllyyy hoping Mig's deal is with a view to having a solid long term second choice keeper, and we can bring in a proper, actual goalkeeper over the summer.

Seems like a nice, intelligent guy, but a top level keeper he certainly is not.

No, Allan Rodriguez de Souza, signed in the summer that hasn't fulfilled the requirements for a work permit.

I said something similar a while back, could definitely be a blind spot for him.

Xavi Valero might be out of work, perhaps getting him in as goalkeeping coach might improve Mingolet

Okay boards.ie clearly fecked with some Russian kid attacking it from his bedroom so I'm issuing an informal invitation to join www.est1892.co.uk if you are not already there. I joined when I was "between accounts" and its a great site once you get used to the nature of the place and some of the inhabitants.

But Flanagan should be on the bench according to Klopp so a small piece of positive news.

While we have precious moments together, line up for tomorrow:

    Mig
    Brannagan---Toure---Skrtel (if fit) Jones
    ---Milner----Welsh Pirlo----Can
    -Ibe
    Benny
    Ojo

That should be more than strong enough to cope with a poor/middlin League 2 side. Will give some of the youth a chance while also allowing some of the more important players a rest before Saturday's early morning kick-off away to Norwich.
That is assuming league position (ie 4th) is still a greater priority than a cup win..

Sturridge will be gone in the summer.

Hamann has indicated a lot of it is in his head, backing up what Klopp said.

Time to grow a set or on your bike Daniel
