I'd love a decent sized Mark's snd Spencer's in Tralee. Good quality, not over priced and plenty of variety style wise. For good quality clothing staples without being ripped off, Mark's would be my first choice. The outlet in Killarney is far too small.

If we're just throwing names out there, I'd like to see boojum come to town...a good burrito joint would do well here

Just to be clear, TTC didn't block M&S coming to Tralee, they refused planning permission to change the use of a specific unit at Manor that would have allowed M&S to trade from that unit. M&S would not require planning permission to move into the Debenhams unit. It's theirs for the taking if they want it.

Interestingly, several retailers have been trading in Manor in breach of planning for years and continue to get away with it. (Soundstore, Mr Price etc).

I can see why you say Mr Price are trading in breach of planning and it seems to be their operating model, just Google mr price Waterford but I would've thought sound store was similar to currys and Harvey Norman selling bulky goods from a retail park or does that building have planning for something different altogether?

Whatever planning regulations are in place for Manor Retail Park won't apply to Mr Price & Soundstore

It's not like they are far away from each other. Tralee isn't exactly a metropolis!
I think we can all agree this merits a ban of some sort :D

The truth hurts sometimes. My truth, not yours :D

Having lived among over a million people all my life, Tralee is more like a nice little :)

I see that Rockalilly boutique are reopening their shop. They are now located in the old Spin Southwest unit in Castle street.

The new Safura shop looks nice. Its in the old Swamp unit in Abbey court (I know someone mentioned that was potentially where they may be going...you were right!).
Nice to see some shops opening at this time!

Oh that's great. I like Rockalilly's retro clothes. I might treat myself. What's Safura's stuff like. I really miss A-wear and Sasha and to a less extent, Swamp.

Safura is ok, I wasn't completely amazed by it. Its a bit of a mix of brands, so some items you can get in Vero Moda already (like Only) and they do Vila clothing. The shop is nice, and the clothes are nice but its just kind of same as is already in that street with DV8 & vero Moda.

Pity. I've aged out of Vera Moda. With Sasha and A-wear you could always find something bang in trend but suitable. It's very hard to get trendy clothes for 'grown up' women in the Tralee boutiques. It seems to be all for young wans or auld biddies in the boutiques (I am an auld biddy, I just dont want to look like one just yet)

Yeah, I'm 44 (not old obviously!) but I'm getting to that stage where I've started to sort of change my style and I feel like there's not much in town that suits my taste anymore. I feel the same about the boutiques...that and they are a bit pricey! I have got so fussy with clothes that I don't buy half as much as I used to. Especially this year where it became more dressing for comfort than special occasions!

Ten guards escorted her out of Town and she was on ranting about it on her website. I had a good laugh at that, if I knew she was around I'd have laid a trap for her and trolled her. Odious horrible woman.

What was her beef with the greyhounds?

I don't actually know, then again she has a beef with everything these days it seems. I'd have imagined her to be pro-blood sports as our race and culture sort of thing etc. An unholy alliance of Gemma and the Greens perhaps :pac:

Jysk confirmed as opening in Manor West and now looking for staff! I'm guessing the old Carpetright store?

Presumably nobody can use the old Debenhams store until the union dispute is resolved.

Probably depends as much on if the store lease as the union dispute.
If the lease is now null the union dispute shouldnt effect it

Is that Carpetright store big enough for a Jysk? I’ve never been in a Jysk but one would assume a furniture store would need a large space. That carpetright store isn’t that big in reality.
