It is indeed. Basically its really only the Ballyard area that comes out as advantaged and even part of the Oakpark area comes in as below average.

Indeed!  It's disheartening if you click on the stats for some areas (eg Ballonagh/Connolly Park) that 45% (almost 1 in 2) males are unemployed.  That is shocking!

Well it looks like we can all park on the cycle lane in Denny street as no bye law was passed to make it one yet thus all tickets are invalid , a taxi got a ticket yesterday for it but it cant be enforced so happy days all, not that i ever park there anyway

Tricky one that, any new major road requires a cycle lane by law, they changed Denny st to 2 way, so a lane is required by law, the by law is fairly irrelevant as these things are applied for retrospectively ..any ticket would stand I'd guess

If ye have time on Facebook the story of the taxi who got the parking ticket is there, on the Tralee Do You Know page - entertaining reading in the comments section :-)

I'd say some of the taxi supporters are more than a little mentally challenged

I noticed that the townhouses/apartments in Oakpark are finished. They have a big gate up which says 'Christopher's Court'. It seemed to take a long time to finish them! They've been working in them since last summer!
Edited to add that they are up on Daft to rent.

They look very swanky, is €800 a month expensive for a two bed in Tralee?

I rented a 5 bed house in Oakpark for €800 about 8 years ago while waiting for our house to be ready.

The very minimum a house goes for these days is 750...most agents are looking for 900-1200 a month for a decent house...2 bed appartments in Edward court go for 750 ... sometimes 50-100 more ....the appartments facing onto the river (beside the cinema) are about 1100....prices are crazy at the moment.....

By the by...a certain estate agent has taken on 2 properties and sold both inside a fortnight... Mannix's centra is one...won't mention the other.... but the buyer is interesting ;)

And no doubt those apartments in Oakpark will rent very quickly seeing as there is so little available to rent at the moment.

Anyone else here subscribed to the Tralee Local Employment Service jobs newsletter? For the past two weeks I cant open emails and their website even seems to be down? Getting 404 Not Found for the email and

    "Domain Default page
If you see this page it means that Apache Domain Service for this domain is locked, or there's no such Apache Domain Service registered in Operations Automation."

    for the website Tralee.ie.

Anyone know what the story is? The emails are still being sent out.

This seems to work.... perhaps a hosted website won't be continued if it's not economically feasible

I get this when I click that link:

    Not Found

The requested URL /job-seeker/newsletter/ was not found on this server.

I recently changed ISP, would that have anything to do with it?

Interesting story in yesterday's Kerryman re the guy in Atlas House getting a taxi from Tralee to Sligo to attend Court only to stiff the taxi driver for the alleged €500 agreed fare. The taxi driver is named and I bet everyone reading it is going to be saying to themselves how the feck did her ever agree to take that fare without being shown the readies in advance! The guy was brought to Court in Sligo on the matter, told the Court he would pay but the following day opted for a Jury trial in the District Court in the case (literally never happens in the District Court) presumably in the hope that the taxi driver would not turn up to give evidence and be down the costs of attending.
