1/5th odds each way

I had an each way bet on the 2.20 in Fairyhouse, mine came in 3rd. When I went back to the bookies, they said 'ah no that was only paying 1/5th the odds'. Now I know thats the case in non handicaps with over 8 runners, but this was a handicap. Are they right? Where can I check that they are right?

Yeah, they're right. You need 12 runners to get 1/4 odds 1,2,3 in a handicap - there were only 10 runners so 1/5 odds is correct.
