    I've been to everyone I can think of at this stage.  I even phoned Sky at one point & asked them if I took the phone out with them, would they deal with Eir but they can't do that :(

    Although, I will again point out that I shouldn't have to create a new order or a new account as I did not ask for either of them to be cancelled & I didn't make the mistake. Eir did. I'd love to know what corrective action has been put in place to ensure no other customer is treated this appallingly.

    So after another 37 minute long phone call, another order & another account have been set up. I will PM the details now, Pamela.

    The great irony of it all is that the telephone number allocated to us way back on November 2nd, was in fact for the correct exchange. So how the complete breakdown in process happened is beyond me.

    So the installation did actually happen on Friday.  However, although we have a dial tone, we can't actually make or receive any calls.  I called "Customer Care" again & apparently, the line will not be made active until the 16th because "the system does not know that the work has been carried out".  When I suggested that the agent overrode the system, I was told that she could not.  So I'm not really sure what the point of the escalation was if we still have to wait until Thursday anyway.
