Yeah there was the slow reveal of the person in the Animus before Desmond, bleeding their experiences to him, iirc? I liked that stuff. I enjoyed (funnily enough) the odd levels your play where you left the Animus and Desmond travelled around in present day having learned the moves of Ezio et al

I always thought the last of the series, or story arc would be set mostly (or majorly) in modern day with you playing as Desmond and Abstergo or whatever they were called being the templar people. Thought the learned actions through Assassin experience would lead that way. A couple of missions or levels had it, but i thought the end of Desmonds story would be him becoming a modern day assassin.

Yup. It was meant to be an intro to a new series

Seems Sony don't want to put one into production. They own the IP and, as far as I know, haven't tasked anyone with doing something with it. Ready at Dawn were the developers of the first, and I remember them saying they'd like to do another but it isn't their call.

Doesn't seem like they have been up to much since.

I'm going to be participating in an interesting community (i guess) event.
It's called "Reddit vs Darkest Dungeon".
Not sure if there's been similar on Boards, perhaps the PC Gaming Sub Forum would be the best place to ask.
Bu essentially, you get a load of players and you share the save file between you, in turns.
It's something thats been done before for games like Civilisation, Empire Earth etc.
So like, we all do 5 weeks/dungeons in DD and then you upload the save to the cloud, and pass it on to someone else and do a write up/cliff notes of your run for the next player/rest of the players.
The key difference is I am planning on Streaming my run on Twitch (but it'll be from PC, as opposed to PS4).
I'll pop an ole message/post up at the time, but it'll likely be 9pm Wednesday at this stage.
Could be a fun one as basically the game is being shared by (I think) 20 of us so it could go excellently or horribly

What is the point of it? Are you trying to continue a game narative over 20 people, or do you just load it up - do what you can and hand it over? Is it a case you could be handed an absolute mess of a situation and try to retrieve it, amid much hilarity?

I can picture this happening, someone makes a boo boo and generic loads it up to find out haha

Yeah, essentially continue the narrative over the ~20 people.
or do you just load it up - do what you can and hand it over?

Well it's like anything. It is what you make out of it.
As a huge DD fan I was pushing to make this an "event" hence suggesting streaming it over just playing offline and writing up what happened (I am in a Discord group with the others where they did the "Journal Entries")
Is it a case you could be handed an absolute mess of a situation and try to retrieve it, amid much hilarity?

Pretty much this yeah. And by all accounts the save file i've being given is not far off that situation.

If anyone wants more details or to read what happened in the weeks prior to my turn (week 30 -> 35 for me) you can go here in the interim if you so desire (the journal entires are hyper linked).

I used to do this with Football Manager. 12 of us I think. Load up a bunch of crap leagues and get a random club. You played for 4 months in game before passing it on.

MGSV is really hammering home that I don't like stealth games. The game itself is fine and I enjoy some of it but sneaking into a base for 1/2 an hour and then some bs happens is infuriating.

I have to say I feel the same about stealth games they just really, really annoy me.

I think I played one on the ps2 (a tom Clancy game I think) which was ok.

give me a run and gun game any day of the week over them

I really enjoyed the Hitman games back in the day. I enjoyed figuring out the 100% stealth route through levels. Everything was a hint towards the stealth narrative (which in fairness was heavily scripted and laid out), bit fun when you executed it and walk away without alerting anyone. In contrast, I've watched mates play the game, kick doors down and go in with automatics blazing! I wondered why buy the game at all.

The best stealth games where the original Splinter Cell games. The first 3 where brilliant.

Wolfenstein 2 €48.29 on Amazon or €69.99 from PSN. May play the earlier two again and get it next year instead.
    Probably preorder it online now

It'll be a tenner in a couple of months.

A shame for the developers as the first one was damn good other than the fetch quests which got very annoying.

Kinda like Mirrors Edge Catalyst was always bound for bargain pricing weeks after release when nobody bought it.

150,000 people still without power this morning, worst affected area is Cork apparently.

if you live in a highly populated area shouldn't be too bad but if your in the sthicks you could be a few days.

Great excuse to work up some time owed. :D

    Best a luck!

My sister has recently played through all 4 Uncharted Games (and the Lost Legacy) and the 2 newer Tomb Raider games and was asking what games are similar on PS.
I couldn't really think of anything other that TLOU (naughty dog) or FarCry 3 (or 4) and Shadow of Mordor. Any other suggestions?
I think her criteria are basically epic story + 3rd person (maybe) + sneaky sneakiness

What about the Bioshocks? Borderlands and maybe Wolfenstein which is fun and going cheap right now.

    Maybe The Witcher.

Metal gear? Cheap on psn story is considered great if not a bit mental.

    I haven't played HZD
Lack of power being the main issue, then the need to swap my hard drives and then go and leave the PS in her house while it downloads being the other requirement.
Her husband is playing the Witcher 3 and seems to be enjoying it.
Doubt she would be as into Bioshock or BL2 as they are more "twitchy" FPS games and she prefers stuff a bit more chill.
I'll say it to my brother in law about MGSV as he was always a fan of those, not so much her.
    Would Mad Max be suitable?

While Mad Max is fun, it's just too repetitive and grindy, I gave up on it. HZD is my my top pick, you can always play the other games on easy.

She's an EXTREMELY hard person to "sell" games to unfortunately if they don't fit her really specific criteria, I've made my peace with it now.
I'd say HZD, TLOU and Shadow of Mordor would basically cover her for another year

Pick up South Park TSoT last night for a 5er. Haven't started it yet, but will get stuck in this week at some point. Haven't watched South Park in a few years, so hopefully won't be too out of the loop.

Only played the 1st game for about 2 hours with a mate, so looking forward to playing both the South Park games now tbh. Well, when I can that is. It's been in the Dublin PM Deport for 2 days which is unusual.
