Ideally you want PS4 to PS4 over local network, fastest method by far.

Yup it is, but not really applicable in this case cos he has to put a 2tb drive into the pro before it can be transferred :P

Thats the plan. I mean I can set the PS Pro 1TB up handy enough. Put the 1tb of stuff on my existing drive onto the Pro.

Put then the 2nd step of upgrading the 1TB to 2TB in the Pro will be a nightmare. But I want to do it sooner rather than later.
Since I already have 1TB of stuff. Want to make the Pro more future proof.

I think I have.... maybe 8 Hard Drives 500GB or greater between all the devices in the house

Tis a tricky one, I'd just backup the drive and then chance throwing it into the pro to see what happens, you never know.

I'm long overdue for sorting my PC Tower anyway. Can do a reassess of the HDD/SSDs in it while I'm at it

It formats dude, the PS console then encodes the HDD with the PS's serial number etc to allow it to run on that PS.

External HDD is the way to do this.

To put this mess in context, I was looking at my missus PC the other day as the monitor wasn't connected properly. There was this random 1TB HDD in there which wasn't connected or anything just sitting inside the tower. :pac:

Ohhhhhh.... so do the whole transfer thing again? But on Double the Scale you say?

    Screen_Shot_2015-05-12_at_3.31.31_PM.png

    Buy another 2TB drive.

Put the new one in the PS4 Pro.

Put a lan cable between the old PS4 and the new Pro - transfer the files directly between the two.

Then, wipe the old 2TB drive and sell it to someone on here.

    Done.

actually - can you use the current 2TB one in your current PS4 as an external drive for your Pro? Put it into an external caddy or something?

You would then have 1TB in the console and 2TB externally - with nothing in the old PS4 (maybe put one of your laying around harddrives in to it to make it still usable)

Or does removing the 2TB from the current pro mean you have to wipe it to use it elsewhere? (even with another ps4?)

As conovar mention above, external may be the way to go. Saw a digital foundry video a while where they used external drives and they seemed to perform well.
Or you could wait 6-12 months until Sony come out with a 2TB pro?

Used to LOVE C.O.D. Fell out with it for several reasons but just reading this morning on what Activision have done in relation to the most recent edition.

Digitally Packaged MW remastered (which everyone wanted) with MW Infinite (which very few wanted) and sold it as the deluxe version.
Sales by volume were down by 50% (on Blops III) but revenue up by 25% as a result. (not sure how accurate this is)
Released a DLC for MWR at €15 which was more than the cost when they released the same DLC ten years ago.
Released separate weapon & cosmetic DLC for MWR that you had to buy.
Are now releasing MWR as a standalone title for €40! without the DLC!!!!
All this within 8-9 months since MW Infinite released.

    Destiny: The Future ?

I don't know if you've realised this yet, but you're the only one posting about COD and still playing them :P

COD is my true obsession but the post above was more a concern of things to come for Destiny, with paid for DLC and other shenanigans being the order of the day.
