Only got the game for my daughter at xmas and she knocked it over flat and gave the disc a nice round burn on the disc.
it see's it when loaded but then says disc unreadable.
Tried the toothpaste and candle wax to clear the scratch but no luck.

Have tried to rent but no available to install it to the hard drive.

    any other ideas out there.

    for the xbox360:confused:

Could you re-buy it from the Marketplace?

Trying to avoid re-buying it as a last resort, after just buying it on disc from argos.

When its sitting on this dashboard screen -

Hit X to try install it to the HD....

I thought Minecraft story mode was playing from HD anyway as the game is episodic....?

As in you download them one at a time as they come out?

your xbox360 is supposed to be standing up.
it is well known to cause scratches sitting horizontal

Would there not be more of a chance of it getting knocked over standing up rather than the CD getting scratched while horizontal?

My 360 was always horizontal and it never scratched any discs

I think Gamestop and maybe Smyths can fix cd's for something like 5/10 euros. Maybe someone else can confirm this

The Xbox 360 was designed to be used either horizontally or vertically, and neither will scratch your disks more than the other.

What is pretty much guaranteed to scratch your disk is moving from horizontal to vertical (or vice versa) with a disk in the drive.

I've been told at a few different game shops that the xbox should be stood up.as it is known to scratch discs whilst horizontal after a while.

Would these game shops be in the disc repair or disc insurance business by any chance? :)

I think the general consensus is that the 360 is less likely to scratch discs when it is horizontal.
