VIP tickets - 70 euro. Show tickets - 20 euro. A poor poster.

Actually the poster doesn't even have the promoters/organisers name or contacts on it. Unusual.

Thats a weird one, bringing a ''rival'' of McGregor's over to his hometown cant see there being a clammer of people to get tickets to this,**** that paying for a photo the chap will be walking around temple bar when hes over Ha

Ha you may say that tongue in cheek but 80% of these so called fans dont give a **** unless McGregor is involved, they probably dont even know who Edgar is.

    It's just math.

If X is the number of 'so-called' MMA fans in the country.
    80% of X wouldn't be interested unless there's a McGregor.
1% of what's left would be interested in meeting Frankie Edgar.
1% of them will drag their asses off the couch & buy a ticket.
What number are we left with?

Well I guess we find out when it happens I'll be surprised if its a success,Edgar is a humble boring family man not someone I'd be paying 70e to meet, are you going?

    Probably not.

That's class I wouldn't mind going up to Dublin for that but no way paying 70 quid. 20 is grand though to go sit down, have a few pints and listen to stories from Frankie and Paddy.

Me and Zero it is so.

To be honest i'd pay the 20 just to listen to Paddy speak over a few pints. Would love to hear him talk more about the mental struggle as an athlete forced into retirement and a new career, albeit in the same sport.

Timing is very weird for this, i find it hard to believe Frankie would fly to Dublin solely to sit down in Clonsilla for one night. He must be stopping off in Dublin for a night or 2 on his way to Bahrain or Russia or something.

If I was back in Ireland I definitely go for the 20 quid, Frankie is a true legend

Seems like a cool guy outside of the Octagon

Frankie imo is one of the greatest, not top 5 but he'd probably make my top 15-20. I think he's underrated in that sense. He won the lightweight title way undersized and ended BJs hold over LW. Wins over Faber, BJ, Maynard, Mendes, Swanson, Sherk. Only losses were to Henderson (both verrry debatable) and Aldo (who's probably top 10 GOAT), and Maynard very early on.

    Anyway, I'll try to go.

Must be seriously stuck for a few quid if he heading to the local in clonsilla for a payday,I'd be surprised if this happens.

This could be a a dumb question...

When fighters hit pads, they make all sorts of grunts, Conor's one being "HAI!" but I feel like I've never heard fighters make the same noises in a fight?

The reason I ask is because if they do make a noise wouldn't the opponent have a tell or warning?

Joe Stevenson used to make a load of noise when throwing.

Women make a lot of noise when throwing too

It's interesting though that some fighters do it during training but not while fighting.

Is there some benefit to doing it in training?

I think its a mental thing, when your hitting pads you know your gonna land flush and clean on a surface so you try hit it hard,a moving object ie a human in a fight you arent gonna land clean everytime.
