There is a specific, pertinent forum where that stupid amazing, fight-ruining ending martial art can be discussed freely. This forum is surely about only mma?

There's a reason BJJ practitioners call themselves "players" and not "fighters". LOL

I dunno. Report it I guess.

    LMFAO

I'm sure any BJJ gym would be glad for you to come down and show them how useless it is. You should film it so everyone can learn.

http://www.mmafighting.com/2017/5/16/15648532/csac-passes-ground-breaking-package-of-weight-cutting-regulations. Interesting times in California. A lot of 'recommended' but solid steps in the right direction, I think.

I know a bit about danis, mainly through his association with McGregors camp the last while.
Don't know anything about this tonon fellow though, would he be considered good or very good compared to danis?
They are both outstanding grapplers. With similarly decorated records.
Garry fights out of Renzo's in NYC. Leg lock specialist under Danaher.
Dillon was on Marcelo's in NYC.

Garry was NoGi world champ at brown belt in 2012.
Pan America NoGi champ in 2011 and 2012 at brown,
Pan America NoGi champ at black in 2015.

Dillon was NoGi world champ at brown belt in 2014.
Pan America NoGi champ in 2013 and 2014 at brown, and at black in 2016.
Pan America NoGi champ at black in 2015
He's still chasing IBJJF titles afaik. Worlds this month.

After those wins, Garry moved away from IBJJF tournament towards nogi superfights/EBI events. He won EBI 4 times from lightweight to light heavyweight, those matches should on on fight pass. (EBI 1,3,5 and 9). Out of 18 EBI matches, he has 9 heel hook wins.
He got the better of Palhares in a nogi match at the last Polaris.
Dillon had a heel hook win on that Polaris.

They fought at ADCC in 2015, where Garry won by heel hook

This rematch has been a long time coming. As you can see from the years above, Garry was always a step ahead of Dillon. Personally I think he is still a head, but Dillon has closed the gap.

I believe the Danaher guys drill very heavily specifically for the EBI rules overtime section. They work with stopwatches and devise fast escapes which you ordinarily might not use.

Whereas Marcelo's philosophy is not to end up in these positions in the first place. And certainly not do a rushed escape that puts you in a worse position. He doesn't really alter his training to cater for the rulesets of some of the newer submission tournaments, and it hurts them.

For example Shields escaped Dillon's back mount 2 times but both times ended up mounted. Whereas Dillon tended to escape entirely.

To me Danis looked like the better submission grappler whereas Shields had better tactics specifically for this ruleset. It looked like Shields strategy was to make it to overtime, he didn't really try anything during normal time.

Yeah, they definitely do. Danaher's a master tactian. I can just imagine him picking apart the ruleset.

To be fair. The Renzo's/Danaher guys have been very active in EBI. There's nearly always two of them entered.
Whereas the Marcelo guys focus more on IBJJF events. They've only occasionally been in EBI.
For example Shields escaped Dillon's back mount 2 times but both times ended up mounted. Whereas Dillon tended to escape entirely.
Good point. Danis just escaped as normal. Whereas Shields' escape resulted in him being mounted. Which is obviously an "escape" specific to this rule set.

The match with Tonon will be sub only, no points, no overtime.

It's official, International Fight Week is cursed. Three years in a row now we've lost the main event. Worked out okay in 2015 for obvious reasons but last year's main event was a farce (sorry Miesha) and it could be heading down that road again this year.

Woodley is about 5' 8, tiny for WW.

Dunno why but I always picture Maia as small and Tyron as tall so that vid threw me a bit.

Saw a few videos of Athletes Retreat, looks like Seery is enjoying himself anyway. "What are you calling yourself these days, the Russian wha? Can't be the hammer cuz you haven't knocked anyone out in ages. .. You ****ing idiot" :pac:

Seery rules the roost at Dimpco and the UFC, he wouldn't have it any other way.

GSP will fight whoever the WW champ is when he returns.

I'd say Bisping is fuming, but hopefully we can just get back to title defences.

    This who'll ordeal was stupid.
