Could be actually! There was an interview I copied on here(or another thread) from Hunt about week ago and he said Dana told him to stay fit for 200. He thought incase Cain pulled out but maybe it is Brock.

Aerial helwani escorted from arena before bisping fight and banned from ufc

Would people have any confidence in Lesnar beating many people on the heavyweight roster these days? He hasn't fought in what will be almost 5 years when he does return. I feel it will be extremely tough for him. Matching him up with an active heavyweight who has had a couple of wins in their last few outings seems like madness.

I'd be leaning towards it being Hunt too due to the talk about him and UFC 200 over the last week or two, but I don't think that will end well.

If so he could be beast mode, wonder has he been training

He had a UFC clause put into his contract prior to wrestlemania, and has been training since.

    It'll be Hunt for certain.

And I'd guess it's a one time deal. I don't see him returning long term.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,735 ✭✭✭ASOT

If he is in any way recovered from his problems he will be a beast but obviously the gap will effect him, I.think there praying he can take hunt down and end it, bit I'd fancy hunt to knock him out I'd never seen someone dislike getting hit in the face as much as Brock.

They always go on about legitimising the sport then ban a reporter because he does his job. Sad people running the UFC

It's a bit like a de-facto dictatorship where the rulers want the facade of an open press but also maintaining control of the narrative at all times (e.g. Russia & Turkey). "You're free to print anything you want......as long as it doesn't displease us too much"

Is it just me or is it a bit strange there is no article about this on mmajunkie or sherdog.com?

Couldn't watch last night and woke up to Ariel being banned for life, conor nate confirmed, nate slapping dana, brock is back and THAT main event. Just mental.

What did Ariel say/do for that kinda response? Awful stuff.

He tweeted Lesnar was fighting at UFC200 before the UFC got to announce it with that teaser at the end of the trailer.

I wasn't on my phone or the computer when I was watching the fights so it didn't spoil the surprise it for me, which for me was better than reading it on Twitter. But at the end of the day he's just doing his job but I can kind of see it from the UFC's angle tbh. Typical over-reaction tbh.

I can't see Lesnar doing as well in the octagon. He's 4 years older and 4 years out of fight practice which pretty much negates any perceived advantage from recovering from diverculitis.

I will say this for him though he is still not given enough credit for literally taking up MMA and going straight to the most elite organization and winning the belt within a year. That is extraordinary stuff.

I think some fans were annoyed because Lesnar's rise showed that freakish power can trump skill.

Don't bite the hands that feeds you...or the hand that used to feed you until you pissed it off but it still gives you access to the kitchen.

I said on here a few months ago I thought he seemed to be getting to big for his boots. The UFC have gave him access(I presume media get in free?) to events for years, he keeps ruining their announcements so its pretty certain to piss them off.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 7,269 ✭✭✭Gamebred

I know theres some financial gains for hits on his website when he tweets this breaking news but anyone else find these nerd journalists are always trying to be the first to confirm anything on twitter.

Its his job to report news, he doesn't work for Zuffa. They are gangsters and a serious debate needs to be had regarding journalism in the sport, its not just Ariel its all of MMAFighting. This issue needs it own thread

Statement from WWE on Brock Lesnar:
Brock Lesnar remains under contract to WWE, however, he has been granted a one-off opportunity to compete at UFC 200. Following this milestone event on July 9, Brock will return to WWE for SummerSlam on Sunday, August 21, live on WWE Network.

WWE should have a big say in who his opponent is going to be I'd imagine. No way it would be anybody like Shane Carwin. Mid-level opponent at best.

It's not as if he was some muscle head that came in and whooped ass.
He was a fairly high level (real) wrestler before the UFC, that along with his extreme athleticism and freakish power is why he rose to the top.
It s not as if every juiced up freak in wwe coujd do what he did.
And to be fair, the only elite guy he beat was carwin, who nearly had him beat anyway. Mir is hit and miss, randy was old.

So journalists should say nothing until Dana gives the the OK. Is it only for the UFC that this should happen or would you support censorship for all journalists?

    Says who though?

Other than the recent throwaway comment I wouldn't read into that at all. Again, WWE want Lesnar working their 3rd biggest show of the year less than two months after UFC200. They'll want him medically cleared to not just do the event, but do appearances before it too.

I'd say there's more chance of a Roy Nelson than Mark Hunt.
