Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Same for me, 1-0 United

SS1 seems to be on my Now TV without me buying it. I presume it goes off right before kick-off?

A point or a draw will be a good result for United, don't expect to get anything though.

He will not get sacked till they can not mathematically reach the CL, I am sure they have a clause in his contract meaning he does not get much compensation if this happens. They did the last time.

If that is the case, they are crazy. CL is worth so much more.

Hopefully Firmino can continue his form, if he continues playing well as a striker that could solve a lot of our problems.

That sounds like a laugh tbh.

Knowing the high regard that Liverpool and United fans have for each other, this thread could be quite interesting as the afternoon progresses.
    ;)

As for the actual game, I can see Liverpool sneaking it. 2-1 possibly.

In the battle of the pundits I'd say Schmeichel is winning it but this is an interesting issue being discussed in a very basic way.

You have to imagine Liverpool will come storming out of the blocks like they did against Arsenal.

If United can hold strong and not concede early they could go on to win, or more likely draw as Liverpool will tire quickly. They looked dead on their feet I thought against Arsenal about 15/20 min into the second half. In fairness they did rally at the end but I dunno will they have two of those in a week

Peter Schmeichel must have had a row with the missus before he left for work.

God forbid this happens again. First half in the game at OT resembled it.

It is just another game, each side shouldn't care who the opposition is, same three points on offer.

Hopefully United get the three points, should be a good game.

BBC have compiled an 11 from United and Pool using some computer

No surprise United defense are all in there. Kinda surprised not one united attacker is there at all tho

Two terrible attacks versus two terrible defences, something is going to give today. Probably be 0-0 despite the best efforts of both teams

Neil Custis is sorry for being fat and is planning on losing weight.

Is there anything sadder in football preview-land than a combined 11?

I'd call 25 goals in 21 games terrible for a big team tbh

Don't feel a bit of sympathy for him anyone who writes for the Sun can't complain about being insulted.

What was worse was the other ginnets on the Sunday Supplement tut tutting at Van Gaal's behaviour as if they're saints themselves.

De Gea staying and wanting to become a club legend is great for United. Ranked number 2 in the world after Neuer.

There's no chance that Courtois is a better keeper than Neuer, He isn't close tbh

    Luck or good scouting?

Both. And obviously a good goalkeeping coach. De Gea was rocky at the Start and has come on immensely.

Nonsense. Schmeichel was great scouting by the club. Van Der Saar was a veteran proven keeper when signed and De Gea was one of the hottest young prospects(goalkeeping wise)in the world when signed and they paid a huge fee for him.

Plus inbetween Schmeichel and Van Der Saar they had some utter muck between the sticks.

Klopp echoing what Schmeichel, and most people not named Souness or Carragher, we're saying about the change in Manchester United's approach.

De Gea wasted at Utd tbh. Should be plying his trade at the top table.

I don't think he's the best in England though let alone the world

You never know what to expect...if Vidic was still playing for United, it would be a red card.

I saw a lot of De Gea at Atletico and so always rated him. Yeah, he had a poor start at Man U, but i always felt he'd come good. My only suprise at the time of his signing was that they had no experienced keeper to keep him in line. It was always going to be a tough start for a very young foreign keeper coming into the Premier League.

    How is it nonsence?

There is always a risk that a player will never turn out to be as good as predicted they will be. That's the luck there.

Good scouting with the players named above and I'd also suggest that Bartez(for a period) and Howard(has done very well with Everton) were decent keepers as well.

And good coaching in the De Gea case, although he was a great prospect he was dodgy when he joined first but has been in the top two keepers in the league for the last few years because the coaching has helped him improve a lot.

    My predictions for the game:

Wild celebrations from Klopp along the touch line at some point

Look of worry on Klopp at some point

A Vidic red card - EDIT someone beat me to it. :(

Always hate these games.....its strange, these are the games that make the EPL a great league, or maybe thats Sky's spin on it?

Anyways, maybe I'm alone but I never enjoy them, stomach always in knots if LFC are leading or annoyed if LFC are behind.......

I'm going for a 2-2 draw and would be happy with it. Hope its a good game and isn't ruined by a sending off or dodgy decision.

Some people to suddenly find Klopp's behaviour on the touchline a disgrace.
