    This is it essentially. Quality of judges in the country has diminished greatly in recent times. They're handing out money like it's no big deal. It's driving up costs for everything.

    The award was at the lower end of the scale in defamation cases.

    There is nothing to suggest that this decision was wrong or the Judge was somehow of "poor quality". There are bad Judges...Hannan actually has a very good reputation, is very thoughtful, gives cases a full hearing and doesn't cut down on time, is very pleasant to those in front of him...and knows the law.

    It looks like security guards need better training. Being vague about why she was barred seems to be the reason but it's not obvious.

    I agree sentencing can be very lenient at times. But I hate this "Judges haven't a clue, they're out of touch with reality" rubbish. They actually do have a clue - that is why they are judges. They know the law in depth - the problem is with legislation, not the judges. Why would it be in their interests to give criminals perplexingly short sentences?
