Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Travel Insurance Question - can I get a quote to cover me?

I'm off to Brazil soon - I know it can be a dangerous place but I really want to bring my camera - as I love photography and I know I'd really regret it if I didn't...

The camera body alone is worth €1500 and the lens another €1000 - does anyone know a company that will cover me? They seem to have a limit on any individual item - the broker I called said €300 is the most they cover any one item. How can I get proper cover? Maybe home insurance?

Also, I have a family member that is quite sick right now. If the unthinkable happened and they died when I was away or even before I left - would a standard travel insurance policy cover me?

Can't advise you as to who will give you the cover you're looking for but your domestic household policy will definitely not cover you for theft or loss that happens when travelling abroad. On the relative who is ill, all travel insurance policies exclude cover for pre-existing conditions so you would not be covered for financial loss caused by cancellation (before you go) or curtailment (have to come back in the middle of the trip) if their condition gets worse or they pass away.
