Best Irish (very)short stories to read and discuss with students of English from othe

Hi all,
I am looking for Irish short stories that would be ideal for teaching english as a second language overseas.

The students level is quite high so the language itself won't be a problem.
Hoping the story introduce elements of Irish culture, minds and lifestyle.

Any suggestions or experiences of such?
Ideally both modern as well as classic.

I was going to suggest the New Island 'Open Door' series - they're aimed at readers looking to improve their literacy skills. https://newisland.ie/product-category/open-door/

If that would be too basic then I suggest you just go for an anthology of stories. You could try 'The Penguin Book of Irish Short Stories' or maybe 'The Long Gaze Back' which is an anthology of stories by women writers. For something more contemporary you could try Joseph O'Connors 'New Irish Short Stories'.
