Season 32 of CBS Survivor is due to premiere on Wednesday 17th February 2016,it was shot in Koh Rong,Cambodia.

Though this will be the 32nd season to air,it was the 31st to film, having been filmed before Survivor: Cambodia, which aired first.

As with Survivor: Cagayan the 18 players are divided into 3 tribes of 6 based on their dominant attribute:

    Brains...intelligence

    Brawn...athleticism/strength

    Beauty...attractiveness

There's a really cool new twist this season,2 HIIs can be combined into an idol that can be played after votes are read!

The cast includes former NBA player Scot Pollard and Big Brother 16 contestant Caleb Reynolds. No idea who either of these dudes are!

This season has a lot to live up to after the brilliance of Survivor: Cambodia(US) — Second Chance.

Nothing will top the endless blindsiding and idol plays from last season, first season in a long time where I can still remember everything that happened in it.

    The twist has potential.

There's also rumours of another twist. One that sounds a lot less appealing.

    Stick it in spoiler tags?

Ugh, I feel dirty typing this...

SPOILER FOR UNCONFIRMED SURVIVOR: KAOH RONG TWIST THAT'S NOT THE SUPER IMMUNITY IDOL TWIST
Someone will be given the power to remove a jury member, or at least, quash a vote.

Some decent looking women on the season at least anyway. Although, some odd tribe aligning, Asian guy on Beauty tribe, FBI guy not on Brawn ( I mean look at the size of his arms).

    2 weeks to go!!!

I worry that this season will seem like filler until we get to a season that was filmed after the most recent one though, all the trust in alliances will have been removed from the game now, it'll be permanent paranoia in future.

    VOTING BLOCS 4 LYF!

Michael Skupin Charged With Child Pornography and Racketeering.

Nothing to do with the current or upcoming season, but Survivor related in general. I'm just shocked.

Seems like he deserved falling into that fire in Australian Outback. I didn't have much of an opinion of him in Australian Outback, but I really didn't like him at all in the Philippines season... Just got a weird vibe off of him throughout that entire season and with good reason it would seem.

Also got the weirdo vibe from him in Phillipines, did not like him at all.

There's a season I won't be rewatching if it's true, no wonder Artis loathed him so.

    Moving on.....

Here's Jeffs annual assessment of the upcoming cast.

This season really does have potential. Hope all the twists and
    medevacs
don't spoil what looks like a great cast.

Not sure how I feel about the start. Not too many interesting personalities standing out. Im surprised that I like the NBA guy but I presume he wont last too long (or that's what the production team probably hope, he'd be a nightmare to build a lot of the individual immunity challenges for).

They're definitely billing it as one of the harshest seasons, which I hope doesn't mean they spend most of their time lying around.

Somewhat surprising/rookie move on the vote. I know he messed up with the goggles but surely he had more value than blondie (aside from looks). Not really looking at the bigger picture at all.

I think the Beauty tribe definitely has the most well rounded personalities this season, and at this point they're probably the strongest tribe (maybe not physically, but you know what I mean). I also have high hopes for the ice-cream dude and the hot (astophysicist?) girl on the Brains tribe. I'm not overly keen on anyone from Brawn Tribe - possibly because of the edit they got when yer wan had the bug in her ear, they seemed a bit too cutthroat (I love cutthroat players, but only the ones who can separate the game from reality - as in they should have been at least somewhat concerned about her well being, there was something burrowing in her ear for christsake)...

I'm assuming there's a bit more to this story than what we get from the edit. Especially with the revote.

Some nice looking women on it this season. The one Anna in particular from the beauty tribe is great.

Other than that, couldn't really say much about them so far. Ice cream guy on the Brains tribe seemed to have his head screwed on, and I'm thinking Caleb from Beauty tribe might be strong.

If it's a tough season, a lot of the Brawn tribe will melt. In particular, the NBA player and the pro bodybuilder will suffer a lot due to their size.

Oh dear I think I must be in the minority but I really enjoyed that opener.I can't for the life of me understand why they kept Alecia.Brawn..lol.She was hopeless, contributed nothing around camp and the IC.She had to be told to get the puzzle pieces, contributed zilch in the attempt to solve it.Did'nt retrieve any of the paddle nor paddle.Physical exertion in this episode... a big fat zero.In spite of the reassurance that she was'nt going home and some advice to cut out the scheming she put her head potentially in the noose by failing to confirm or deny she'd found a HII.How she imagined this stupidity would aid her game my mind boggles? To cap it all off she fails to take the cap off the pen at the tribal vote...

That's not saying much for Darnell with his ultimately calamitous lose of the mask which largely contributed to the IC loss.

Quite liked the Brawn dudes Scot and Kyle, straight up honesty and strong work ethic/team players.I'd imagined that Jennifer was losing the plot, imagining things until that insect rared it's ugly head.

As mentioned the Beauty tribe appear to be a relatively cohesive unit.Tai is like a spiderman climbs up all the trees, very quirky.Love for all living things, plants.I suppose it goes with the territory of an out there gardener.I did'nt like the fact that he went off looking for the HII and when found out, matter a factly stated he was going to look for it for another five minutes. He lost all the browny points he gained in the aftermath of the whole chickens fiasco.Caleb seems a pretty straight up guy.Hopefully he was'nt a guard in the infamous Abu Ghraib prison..lol.

Lots of interesting back stories,ex US veterans,Vietnamese emigrants, former FBI agent...

On the Brains tribe Peter Obama the doctor appears to be extremely full of himself, pride before the fall. He's a bit too clever by half.Debbie like Tai is likely to bug me more than anything poor Jennifer had to withstand.Incessant self congratulatory utterances the norm. However she did show great empathy to a greatly distressed Aubry. Her visible failure to acclimatise due a unfamiliar environment, dehyration due to excessive heat marked her for an early exit. However she excelled in the IC,retrieving the four paddles and greatly assisting in solving the puzzle.

Debbie and ex FBI man Joe/Joseph have a definite target on their backs due to their age.

Speaking of which, loved how they mixed it up in the IC with the option to do a puzzle or test one's manual dexterity.More's the pity nobody selected the manual dexterity option.

Of course it goes without saying there are some really attractive girls on Survivor this season,so so important!:D

Just thought I'd say...the prize fund is still a million bucks 15 years or so down the road so with inflation it's a prize that I'd imagine has devalued significantly compared with when it began.

I think it may just be that coming from a 'brawn' mindset, they could have just been very pissed off with someone who claimed they would be the best at something, only to be a total disaster.

Agree 100% with everything seligehgit has said above.

I rather enjoyed this opening episode, and find it a little refreshing that the majority of the people and personalities seem to be decidedly "average", nobody overly larger than life from the get-go. That doesn't mean to say that some true colours and craziness won't emerge further into proceedings, but for the moment they seem like a relatively normal bunch.

Really liked Tai, it's a shame he shot himself in the foot so early in the game. My favourite so far though has to be the pro poker player on the beauty tribe.

Disappointed that Alecia didn't go. I find stupidity and delusion to be a really annoying combination.

Anyone else surprised that the crew let Jenny go on for nearly three days thinking she had something in her ear!? Surely they would have brought someone in to check at some stage? Seriously dangerous.

Yes. She definitely seems like a savvy player alright.

But also, Liz from the Brains Tribe, is a favourite of mine...

They did assess her condition, they just didn't show it. They felt that there was not much they could do to remove it and that it wasn't serious enough to warrant any further action.

Good start, some promising egos, did not like Barack Obama at all. That earwig bit was horrible, was sure that was going to be a medevac in the first ep.

Has anyone seen any explanation as to why they put Tai on the beauty tribe? Seems a bit cruel tbh even if he's meant to represent inner beauty or whatever, he'll just be a get out of jail free card for all the young supermodels the first time they go to tribal, especially now after the idol search.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,456 ✭✭✭astonaidan

Little bit yawn some hotties for both sexes, Brawn havent a clue tbh, Scott only one I enjoyed. Bounty hunter ultimate douchebag thinks hes a brilliant schemer, doubt he can count to 10

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

They were right to vote out Jenn, but the Brawn Tribe are incredibly unlikeable - possibly the most unlikeable tribe in Survivor History. On the flipside, Beauty Tribe are all great - genuinely seem like they have their **** together, look like they're enjoying themselves, and most importantly they're being civil and respectful to each other.

There's a heck of a lot of individuals that are I still hardly as yet know on the beauty tribe.Loving the bromance between Caleb and Tai...hilarious.I was trying to think of who Tai reminded me in look and personality...Gollum/Smeagol from LOTR!!:pac:

I was rooting for him to get that damn HII,it would have been well earned. Some members of the beauty tribe at this stage are largely anonymous.

I can only imagine Debbie with her megaphone personality has a constant irritant on the brains tribe..best keep her around...:pac: Agree with Joe that Liz is a bit of a whinger about the boiled water.Very strong unified group though, with the two older members in the minority.

Defo right call to vote out Jenny, fatal slip of the tongue at tribal sealed her playing both sides fate...Blatantly lying about whom suggested the all girls alliance to boot, just kept digging.God love poor Alecia mixing up her embryos and embers and it was hilarious watching the monkeys yawning after her 5 hours plus at the fire making.Lots of testosterone with the two guys with a dollop of dangerous arrogance breeding an almost fatal complacency.
