Removing /index.php from url

Hi,

I want to correct the url structure of my wordpress website. Its currently http://example.ie/index.php/examplepage

According to this help article:
(http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks#Permalinks_without_mod_rewrite) 

It refers to the structure as PATHINFO: "Almost Pretty".
PATHINFO permalinks look very much like mod_rewrite permalinks but for one exception: they have /index.php inserted before them.

It goes onto say windows servers don't allow it, (bar rare expections). I'm on a shared server package of Windows 2008 Minimus. Am I out of luck?

I'd grab one our technical team on livechat and see what they say.. 
AFAIK we have some kind of URL rewriting solution for IIS (Windows), though I'm not 100% sure how it works (I'm more of a Linux person!)
