Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can Klopp take this Liverpool side to his first final at Wembley?

Liverpool a one goal advantage going into this, more chance of LVG winning the premier league than Liverpool not conceding a goal from a corner tonight, so expect a bit of height in the Stoke line up. Shawcross out injured so that's a blow for Stoke.

All out goal fest or an unlikely bore draw on the card.

Liverpool have scored 8 and conceded 8 in their last 3 league games.

Flop Firmino to continue up front and Benteke to warm the bench.

First possible start for Flanagan in almost 2 years as Clyne is a doubt.

I wonder what bets anyone has on the outcome of this match? Correct score games especially as they are only for 90 minutes, not extra time. It'd be a pity if there were sceptics later.

Fun fact - Stoke have scored just three goals from set pieces this season - so expect Hughes to launch Crouch, Walters and Adam at Liverpool from the start tonight.

Has firmino been touted as a flop? Have thought he was quality despite the slow start.

    I predict a dull 4-3 affair.

I have the score that the game will be 90 seconds before the last goal scored......luckily for me I will be able to cash out with seconds to spare.......calling it now before anyone doubts me......

I may have butchered the joke somewhat.......

Walters and Crouch. Slightly different approach from Mr. Hughes tonight.

That's an extremely attacking side from Stoke. Liverpool need to get running at Whelan, get him booked early.

That Allen assist from the first leg gets better every time you see it.

Win tonight and Liverpool will have a decent chance of making final.

I went for over 2.5 goals. Just putting it on record now.

Johnson could badly for pace there. Don't miss the bloke. Hard to warm to him

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,855 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

Decent start without doing much really. The players seem up for it anyhow, plenty of pressing so far.

That corner is never going anywhere, stupid floaty crosses.

When Liverpool have a corner, the best tactics is to pretend we're defending it. Bound to score then.

Does putting the ball outside the line at a corner really give the taker any advantage?

It's in a footballer's psyche to gain every bit of an advantage they can. Stealing a few yards at throw ins, placing the ball a foot or two nearer the goal at a free kick (not so common now since the infamous spray has emerged), placing the ball outside the quadrant at corners etc etc. It's what they do, they can't help themselves.

Mignolet is so bad at kicking the ball. No pressure and he puts it straight out.

Mig trying to pick out Klopp with a pass.

Never thought of the psychological reasoning, that's a decent explanation.
