Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

animal feeding experiences!

I thought I'd put this in here rather than another forum.

Me and my boyfriend are going to Longleats Safari Park in September. They offer VIP experiences, obviously more expensive. One is hanging out with the penguins and feeding them. Another is helping to feed the tigers. We can't decide which we want to do! I love both animals. Penguins are my second favourite animal (but the scuba experience in Norway with orcas is out of my current financial ability so penguins will do). But I love cats, probably my favourite domestic animal. Yes, even over dogs. I study animal science at the moment and I know what I want to do with my life is work with wildlife, rehabilitating wildlife especially. I'm not that interested in working with pets.

I can't decide between the penguins, little animals I like very much, but let's face it, how much can you learn from being around harmless small birds? And the tigers. I'd get a whole 30 minutes with the tiger keepers during feeding time to observe and take part and ask all my questions.

I did email the park and ask if they'd do a kinda roll into one experience, we'd pay extra for both, yet to hear back.

    What would you choose?

(BTW they also do gorillas and giraffe stuff! I'm really, really not into apes though.)

As a cat person I'd still be inclined with the penguins simply because tiger feeding would be very close to raw feeding for cats anyway where as penguins is something completely different to what you can do on your own.

As an aside, if you are driving over, I would recommend doing the tour of the park in the bus they offer if you value your car, the monkeys can be very damaging, pulling windscreen wipers etc off. I think you can miss that bit out if you want to, in your own car.

Thanks guys! We wont be driving. Really looking forwards to this! Decided to go with the penguins myself anyway, I've been penguin obsessed since I was a small kid so I think I'd miss that opportunity more than the tigers!
