Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Sweet!

Looks like a very clean bike. Price wise, no idea but there can't be much cleaner out there.

No offense but I don't recognise your nick from the motorbikes forum. Have you been riding long?

Don't know the bike but the ad is just copied/pasted for the specs , no info on any of the extras bar the exhaust . Why go to the trouble of aftermarket mirrors with the whole gold thing going on and then change back to standard with a gold brake lever ? Are they the same bike in the pics ? I'd be looking for some recent pics before I bothered looking at it .

I would walk away based on 2 things.

    1. The standard of the English in the advert.
    2. The 2nd picture is from snapchat. I wouldn't want any bike of mine to be owned by some who uses snapchat and uses the words 'great day for a bit rid'

Google image search tells me the top pic is definitely not the bike for sale, it's a pic used all over the place. Different bar ends, screen and mirror in that pic too.
So judge it on the last 3 photos which are shíte.

Had a bike (bandit 600) for a couple of years to tip away on at the weekends. Moved from Dublin back west so sold the bike while getting settled and have now been off the bike for a couple of years. Just wanted to get myself something for the odd weekend we have nice weather.

That's what I thought, cans look different too and sticker missing on front. Seems a bit dodge to me. Below is copy of messages I had with seller

Is that the actual bike in the first picture?
    Have you any more photos?
Can you list all the extras?
    Thanks.

Sorry i dont have more pics at the moment but you are welcome to look at it anytime.

Thanks but I live in Galway, that's why I asked the questions. Does it come with original parts also?
    tue 6:49 am Abdul Almazrua
it has all the original parts, i only add full exhaust system in to it for the more power and sound. i Kept it as the factory and i always take care of it.. trust its worth every cent... i wont sell it if Im not leaving the country

If you were selling a bike would you put a pic up of somebody else's bike ? There's no info in the ad about the bike , everything is copied and pasted . If that was my bike I'd be listing everything that was done to it , from the pic there's aftermarket mirrors , brake lever and rear sets yet no mention of them in the ad . Why would he have to find a pic of someone else's bike to show the acrapovic exhaust ? Who's to say he didn't get the other pics off the net aswell ? If I was going to look at the bike I wouldn't be going with nine and a half grand in my pocket anyway , just in case ;-)

Ive tried calling this chap several times between yesterday and today.
No answer from him,and will not respond to texts.

Pics from the internet and no actual ad,just copy and paste.

My advice,do not being any money with you if going to view this bike, thats if it is a legit ad and bike for sale.:pac:

The chap should go and post a proper ad and take proper pics of "his" R1 if hes that serious about selling it.

Price is about right, but the bike will need to be mapped to suit the exhaust system on it.
If he is leaving the country, then check all the details on the bike are correct, numbers match the log book and check the service history intervals and stamps in the book.
Oh and check if it has had the Headlight loom recall done on it,if not then that will need to be done aswell.

This guy "Abdul" is the biggest chancer going. He has not got one clue about "his bike".

He claims that "his mate" bought the exhaust system for him, there is no reciept for this exhaust.

The second I asked him about service history for the bike he got very defensive and started giving out to me......"why am I asking for proof of service history and reciepts"???

Then I get...."ok my bike is not for sale anymore"

    Phone hangs up.

Supposedly the bike is for sale in "Dublin 4".

This add came up on our radar last night (me and my son), then today we realized we think we've crossed paths with this chancer before (selling cars).

Definitely sounds dodgy. Reckon if you stayed talking to him long enough you'd find out the "bike" is "in storage" or some shíte and you need to send him money through western union to get it out for viewing.

Does anyone think that moving up from a Bandit 600, with no bike in the intervening years, to a R1 is too big of a jump in performance?

Without knowing the rider, and I'm guessing its not a very experienced rider I'd say YES.

I know people say that the throttle goes both ways and you don't have to twist it too much.

But I always stress to people moving up like this just how fast things happen when you go to a liter hypersports bike and how the riders thoughts and reactions are often many, many times left behind.

Some might disagree but experience has taught me to err on the side of caution.
