Do not get the NEBox. Too complicated.

Get the iStick 30w or 40w and a nautilus mini.

Can someone drops me links for this?

I have a pen style e-cig, and it's my second type that I've pretty much abandoned early on. They just don't give me a throat hit, and thats what I seem to miss most about smoking.

I've a range of juices and stuff but I only ever use it in an absolute emergency, and its a total piece of ****. I use Wingnut Vampire kiss liquid, which is actually pretty nice, but the e-cig itself is dire.

Lad here in work was watching me use mine today(I'm totally broke and cant afford smokes) and he was asking why I wasn't inhaling. Responded that I'd read somewhere that you let the vapour hang in your mouth and its absorbed that way. He kinda laughed saying no wonder you cant stick with it.

When I tried inhaling(through various methods or slow long drag etc) it was like inhaling a cigar and I was coughing like mad.

As much as there is the nicotine addiction, for me I also need to feel that throat hit, or its a total waste of time and effort for me.

These istick and nautilus things, worth a go in that vain?

Can't lie that the financial aspect is becoming more appealing about vaping.

Your battery is probably fine but the tank you are using might be crap. A nautilus mini will work on an eGo battery and likely give you a better hit without costing too much. Higher nicotine will give more throat hit, although you're hardly gonna get a throat hit if you don't inhale it.

The coughing will pass in a day or two if you keep at it, your throat just needs to get used to the vapour.

You might cough or feel like choking at first, but remember, same thing happen when you started smoking :) You need a little patience and some willpower, but in the end it will be worth it. I'm off fags for more that a year, used to smoke 20 fags or 15 rollies a day.
But you need to use something better than petrol station grade e-fags. My setup is 40W iStick(50E) + Aspire ETS tank(10E) + BVC coils(10E for a 5x pack, change one every 2 weeks) + 12mg/ml Liqua(10E for a 30ml bottle) juice, all available online or at a serious e-cigg shop.

So start-up kit around 80E, after that vape for less than 5E a week.

12mg/ml is the nicotine strength/concentration. I started with 18mg/ml. You can go higher (I think 24 is the highest) or lower (again, I think 6 is the lowest) depending on what and how much are you smoking at the moment. You can mix them as well, for example if 12 is too weak and 18 is too strong, mix them together and you'll get 15mg/ml.
Also you might choose a cheaper battery, but I strongly recommend one with variable voltage.

Cool thanks. Yeah I've some 12mg juices.

I've a LiquaLites e-cig. Work in the head office in a retailer and they were planning to roll them out to stores so I got given one with some juice and stuff. Pretty rubbish all in all. Although inhaling would obviously help(the advice about holding in your mouth and letting it absorb was advice from here btw :D )

I've probably spent now, on these two entry level pieces of ****,the same I'd have spent with going for a decent setup. As mentioned in other threads and this, the iStick 40W and Nautilus mini/regular tank(they called tanks?) seem to be the regular recommendation, so might as well not deviate from the main

My wife uses Nautilus tank (tank clearomizer is the proper word, I think), it's more or less the same as what I'm using, it's the same brand anyway. The coils (coil heads) are different, a little bit more expensive but probably they last longer.
And yes, just like you, I've spent a lot on useless supermarket junk. Proably between me and missus we spent around 200E on stuff that now it's in the bin. Or should I say properly disposed of, not in the bin ;)

Why? My wife has the 30W one and myself the 40W one, seems pretty much the same to me. The 40W one also supports fancy TC coils, but for regular ones they are the same.

Quick question if anyone can answer.

I have a nautilus mini tank and i lost the rubber bit that sits in place to screw it on. Is there any website that sells these rubber stoppers as my tank is otherwise useless!

    Cheers :)

The only way to fill a Nautilus is from the bottom of the tank,so it needs to be unscrewed from the battery everytime you need a fill & every fill you should clean out any juice or condensation from the chimney by blowing hard when the base is off & hold a tissue at the drip tip end(remove drip tip first) after blowing, screw some tissue into drip tip hole to soak up any fluid in there, this will stop any gurgling.
The battery should have stainless steel threads,if it is the isstick 30w or 40w,it was the 20w istick that had bad threads, they improved them after that.
Do not over-tighten the Nautilus on the battery, just a gentle screwing down til it stops,if the display is showing the ohms of the coil after a quick press of the fire button, then it is connected.

SS threads will not get damaged...

What About getting one on these:- ELEAF ISTICK BENDING ADAPTOR
    http://www.thebestshop.eu/shop/vv-mods/640-eleaf-bending-adaptor-for-istick-tc40w.html

Will this help protect the screw on the Mod itself?

They do protect the istick threads, but you shouldn't have any probs with a istick 40w,they have SS threads & they are tough, for peace of mind,it will save your threads & also makes the mod & Nautilus smaller when you bend it over.

Is it the base that you mean? If so I got some for the full size nautilus a good whole back from China. (Aliexpress). All worked well but be prepared for a wait 5-6 weeks which isn't ideal if you're stuck!

Just a quick question,is it the white thick O-Ring on the base or is it the O-Ring at the top where it screws directly onto the glass tank

  • Registered Users Posts: 487 ✭✭Juxtapose

It's the white thick O ring on the base. Maybe if i try an elastic band or whatnot it may work?

I have a normal nautlius that works fine so i'm not stuck at the mo. Checked most online shops and only the aspire website sell them it seems, which is postage from usa i imagine!

Anyone any experience of using elastic bands as O-Rings?

Just checked Bestshop and they are selling Kanger O-Rings, i presume at least one of them will work with it as they give a pack of 15!

Cheers for your help youdipstick (felt harsh writing your username ;))

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,906 ✭✭✭EGriff

I wouldn't really call that thing on the nautilus an O-ring, and those kanger ones won't work. Your best bet would be to order a replacement base for it. https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10012191/2069706-replacement-base-for-nautilus-bdc-tank-atomizers

Don't use a rubber band either, it will leech into your juice and ruin the flavour.

  • Registered Users Posts: 487 ✭✭Juxtapose

    Thanks for your replies guys.

I sent an email to Bestshop in the hope they might have some spares!
Their customer service is usually top notch so fingers crossed.

  • Registered Users Posts: 487 ✭✭Juxtapose

Just a quick update that they don't stock O-ring parts for nautilus, nor do any other shops.

So guess its either order from Aspire directly or just get a new one and swap the o-rings around!

Buying another one seems to be the only answer, the old one can be used for spares because those glass tanks will break if dropped.

You can get nautilus sealing rings from fasttech.

$1.54 for a pack of 5 with free shipping. Will take at least 3 weeks though.

    Much appreciated.
My other nautilus could do with some new funky blue rubbers too!

    Cheers.

They won't fit the mini, they're for the larger 5ml nautilus.

You might try to take it apart, clean and reassemble it, but liquid in the tip doesn't necessarily mean that it leaks, nor it can be completely avoided. Sometimes it's just liquid sipping through the coil wick material. Some coils will leak more than others, some liquids are more fluid than others, etc.

There is one at the top where that knurling piece screws onto the glass but that wouldn't cause your problem.
All the other O-Rings are on the coil itself,I would say that your coil needs changing if juice is reaching your mouth, some coils last days & others last weeks, just change your Vendor for a few months, could be a bad batch.

Sorry Pat,not exactly know what you mean.A bad coil can still show an ohms reading, when a coil decides to leak & travels up the chimney then it's time to change your coil.
One thing you could try, take the tank off the mod, remove drip tip, hold a piece of tissue over the air hole loosely, don't block the air hole, lean backwards & blow hard a few times into the drip tip hole & juice will blow out of the airhole & onto your tissue, try that & see if it will clear the coil,if not, just change the coil.
