Eamonn Holmes has had almost as much airtime on British Television as Carole Hersee (the girl in this photo)

Because it is a blood sport.

    Simple.

Well don't watch it. And there's blood in plenty of sport. Do you want football and rugby off the tv as well.

I'm kinda of not really listening to him now...........

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,067 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

There's actually no such thing as a blood sport involving humans

Well there is now for some strange reason.

Just because you don't watch something doesn't make it acceptable.

I don't watch murders or child porn.

I disagree PD, being there done that.

It's no good for the person in the photograph.

Privacy as you bury your loved one is one of life's precious memories.

Not to boost a papers circulation.

But if the photos made a difference to the opinions of people who were so strongly opposed to having Travelers living any where near them? What then? The news media (when handled properly) can make a difference in forming and shaping peoples opinions. It about a lot more than leaving people alone to grieve in private.

I have a bit of a vested interest in this. When I was 18, my school burned down and 7 of the nuns were killed in the fire. I appeared on TV at their funeral. It made my parents unhappy, but if my crying face made people think twice about fire safety, I'm all for it.

RTE doesn't need Eamonn, they already have professional and skilled broadcasters.

I have a vested interested in it too PD. I watched an RTE crew and various camera men push family members out of the way to watch a teenage girl mourn and take a picture for a "moving moment".

    Time and place.

    Think about it.

    don't mention eamonn's weight

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/bbc/7897143/Eamonn-Holmes-threatens-BBC-with-legal-action-after-comedy-show-mocks-his-weight.html
Holmes, who presents This Morning and Sky News, ordered his lawyers to send a letter to the BBC after a series of sketches were performed about him by Jon Culshaw on The Impressions Show.

Using the catchphrase, "I was fierce hungry, so I was", three separate skits showed "Holmes" presenting his show after apparently eating a sofa, Frankie Dettori the jockey, and finally the gardens at the Chelsea Flower Show.
In the last sketch when asked where the flowers at the Chelsea Flower Show had gone "Holmes" said: "Oh the big salad that was there, yes. But blow me down if I couldn't eat the whole thing again."

Following the legal letter the BBC has apologised to Holmes, 60, and assured him that he will not be appearing as an object of fun in any further series of the show.

Ah yes, Jennifer Biel. Wife of Jessica Timberlake

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,197 ✭✭✭bottlebrush

I don't think somehow Jessica Biel is going to be on the Late Late. Ryan, you needn't worry about interviewing her at all

The Jessica Biel lookalike is booked for Ray's show tomorrow night.

I think Eamo is making the fatal mistake of thinking he is more important than the vacuous US slebs(worth so much more than he is) he is paid to interview.

I don't need to think about it. I know what I think. I don't have a problem with the media being at high profile funerals, provided they act in a respectful manner. I didn't say that I condone the media acting like assholes in order to get a story. I don't think anyone would.
