No they won't. Wages will rise and so will employment with a lower pound.

a weak pound alone won't create employment

Trade tariffs and unknown restrictions with hurt UK industries, hard

Have the remain campaign won anywhere unexpected yet?

Not that I've heard them commenting on. Some remain results stronger then anticipated but also lots of low turn outs in remain areas. Liverpool at 64% against average of 72% across England for instance.

    Leave: 4,644,933
    Remain:4,561,819

80k leave vote surge atm. :o

Looking at the map on bbc, rural England is voting exit, i dont think London plus Scotland (and likely other cities) can outweight the English exit vote by sheer weight of population

You're all giving out about the betting, but right now Betfair have it 50/50.

Hilarious how the EU were threatening the Scots that if they voted for independence in 2014 they wouldn't necessarily be accepted into the European Union as a separate nation, yet the loyal little Scots have been by far the most pro-European part of the UK tonight :D

Jaysus 175k lead for leave with 143/382

Pollster John Cutice still has Leave as favourite.

Betfair punters (and bookies hedging) have as much a clue as we do at this stage

Looking more and more likely the UK's gonna walk. If theres any benefit of this it'll be the kick up the arse the EU might need to sort it's crap out lest it lose more states.

Edit: Leave sides opened up a 200k lead at this point.

There was a huge health warning with that.

Some will have more knowledge about the types of people remaining to be reported.

Listening to BBC news, staring at the flashing/changing numbers of the Betfair market. Landmark viewing. Like the climax of Trading Places.

If Leave win, Wales is guaranteed not to lose out - it is politically crucial in all this ...

What has it to do? What was the reason people voted Leave?

It'll be a kick up the arse that the EU badly needs.

The welsh mentality will always be to do what daddy says. They'd follow england off a cliff if they could.

The people that want a kick in the arse for the EU, what do you want it to do?

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,351 ✭✭✭✭Harry Angstrom

Keep it coming Francie. It's as fascinating from a betting point of view as much as anything else.

    London 8m popn.
    Wales 3m
    Scotland 5m
    Rest of england 48m

Can see the leave vote pulling away as the rest of england counts come in

That's the sole reason I want the UK to leave, to set an example and bring the dictatorship of Europe well into line!

Leave is definitely starting to pull away here.

This could be great for Ireland as well ... will have a huge amount of leverage in Brussels (if it happens)
