Nikon D90 Shutter issue

Hi folks, I need some advice.

While out and about snapping today with my D90 I suddenly noticed a dark streak across the images which appeared to move slightly each time.

Upon further investigation I found out part of the shutter appeared to have broken, See image below.

So has this ever happened to anyone on here before? Is it easy to get it fixed? Ball park figure?

    Any advice gratefully received.

    The Wanderer.

Give these a ring, I would highly recommend them.
Cost of shutterbox assembly might well be too costly when you consider value of your D90. Worth giving them a ring and see what they suggest.

Should have an update by early next week at the latest. The situation is ongoing.

It's not easy fix. You have completely disassemble camera and replace shutter / shutter blades.

And don't use camera now, because you can scratch CCD sensor. It could be already scratched.
