EI130 BDL-DUB reporting severe turbulence below 1000ft and the wind shifting violently to the left.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,188 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

Dublin's first wave of arrivals have all landed,

EI134 BOS-SNN just landed at Shannon and there's two smaller items at the moment on approach.
EI134 reported some turbulence in the last few hundred feet.
    No issues so far.

Other than the Lufthansa that took off 15 mins ago, not many signs of movement yet at Dublin, wind currently 260 degrees 51knots gusting 62knots, quite severe.

Was just about to post, wind gusting up to 61knots, certainly unforseen nastiness this morning!

Nasty enough but more or less up the runway. wind shear is the issue and its associated warnings. EY 25B going to give it another go......suppose they'll divert EGCC if they don't get in. Once wind goes above 60kts most airline suspend ground ops.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,188 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

Hearing some Ryanair aircraft on the ground saying that they're happy to board once the maximum gust is below 60 knots, all Ryanair ops are suspended for the next 15-20mins but will resume if the wind stays below 60kts.

Nobody can push until half 7 apperently.

Gust up to 64kts now, FR535 going to KERAV to hold, max gust for them is 60 knots.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,188 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

    EY45 has made it.

I notice UA23 is still stuck on the taxiway.

Says he's just 15mins holding......he won't be hanging about long. Wind gusting above 60, that's getting sporty. Eithad got in after 2nd attempt. Good job

KL932 DUB-AMS second passenger departure of the morning just off now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,188 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

FR331 LTN-DUB heading for the approach.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,050 ✭✭✭The_Wanderer

    Heading to the airport shortly.

Any of the experts on here know what incoming flight forms EI606 DUB AMS? I.E. how long would I possibly delayed for?

I guess no gate available because (almost) nobody else has pushed.

I've sat on that flight for >60 minutes before after landing for the same reason; a truly miserable experience after an overnight transatlantic.

I develop Superior Solitaire when I'm not procrastinating on boards.ie.

AA722 can't take a wind of above 50kts from any direction, so will need to hold.

The inbound Ryanair's seem to be landing without issue.

EI152 DUB-LHR just taking off from RWY28, first Aer Lingus of the morning.

Update: Restriction on Ryanair ops lifted, operations now resuming.

Why only one departure and EI and BA the only ones cancelling flights so far according to DUB info?
