Why only one departure and EI and BA the only ones cancelling flights so far according to DUB info?

Maybe because they use air bridges while you just walk to a Ryanair plane.

different aircraft types also! I'm not sure but I know the thing I fly has a 50kt headwind limit for takeoff and landing. So it wouldn't be going anywhere!
It also could be due to the limits for opening cargo doors etc!

    UA23 just landed.

I notice UA23 is still stuck on the taxiway.

UA23 still stuck waiting for a gate almost 2.5 hours after arriving. Hope they've got a bit of extra food on board.

It's was scheduled to be departing back to EWR as UA22 around now (09:00).

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles to avoid the DRS fee.

Seems like its a issue with the hold doors and the wind being out of limits

Wind is 290 so its well within limits for 28

Would there be any stairs big enough to disembarque this out in the field somewhere and bus them in?

DUB - MAN & DUB - FCO are taxing

UA 23 is taxing so may finally have a gate

So, a whole load of going nowhere Aer Lingus aircraft are blocking stands and not one moved out of the way to allow a T/A arrival on stand for 2.5 hours?

I think the wind was too strong for ground operations earlier this morning, but Aer Lingus did seem to be a bit slower than Ryanair at getting going again.

    Still 3 T/A's waiting for gates. (AA722, DL44, EI124)

no, its because Ryanair are less likely to cancel your flight due to many reasons -

boeings have a better tolerance for wind.

they have more planes in their network, so can reschedule plans more easily, thus avoiding cancellations.

Issue this morning wasn't crosswind limits (A320 tends to be better in those conditions) but limits on doors (40knots on the hold, 65knots on the passenger doors), jet bridges, ground equipment due the wind

I've been on gate with a A320 in 50+ knot gusts and it rocks and rolls to a scary degree

EI dispatch quite a few flights from Dublin by stairs, but this morning the limit mean't you couldn't open the hold doors

was there any cargo flights diverted to shannon in the early hours? had a ups parcel that had its tracking transplanted it from Dublin to Shannon this morning in about 40 mins!

The parcel was on its way to dublin, so feels like it never got here, despite the tracking info...

23/02/2017 7:15 Severe weather conditions have delayed delivery. / Delivery will be rescheduled.
Shannon, Ireland 23/02/2017 6:56 Arrival Scan
Dublin, Ireland 23/02/2017 6:12 Departure Scan
    23/02/2017 4:57 Arrival Scan
Koeln, Germany 23/02/2017 3:55 Departure Scan

Star Air operate for UPS and their B762 OY-SRL operated Cologne - Dublin - Shannon this morning as usual.

    https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/oysrl

04:57 Arrival Scan would correspond with the 04:44 landing at Dublin and 06:12 with the time of onward departure to Shannon.

Looks like it wasn't offloaded but was carried on to Shannon. Winds too strong for the scissor-lifts at Dublin, perhaps?

Stobart 3675 holding at 12,000ft in various patterns near Shannon last while. Hope they get down soon. FR and BA got down safely.

Update: Looks to be diverting to Cork.

Update 2: Landed on crosswind runway at Cork.

Also hearing KLM73E requesting return to the gate and police on standby due to unruly passengers.

AMS is certainly not a good place to be today. Several fire units and ambulances on RWY22 now where the flybe landed and declared Mayday.
