At 100kmh ratelimit thats 2 and a half hours, with a 20 minute stop and 10 minutes faffing, its 3h00m, more likely 3h15m in total. Long, horrid trip.

How did you.manage to add 45 minutes into that?

Anyway, hardly as horrid as the Norwegian passengers that had to go from Shannon to Belfast today!

I'm sorry Billie I've travelled that road too many times to know either the bus was doing 40km/h or something ridiculous, or that didn't happen. Easily less than 2hrs in a car between Limerick and Dublin airport.

Not if you are observing speed limits!

Can I ask what happened there?

Ahm, yes? What do you think the speed limit on a motorway is? 50km/h?

Granted, a tired me forgot the speed limit of 100km/h for coaches, taking the journey to just under 2hrs 30mins.

Correct, but if anyone is looking, it's not in the system correctly, so the search for Norwegian won't find it, they are IBK , but it's in the system as IKB1821,

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

At the moment, they are having to use 737-800's, which don't have the same range as the aircraft they intend to use, which are not yet delivered, the 737-8 or 9 Max have a longer range, so can make the trip with fewer issues,

Shannon, Dublin and Belfast are not an issue, the Max Take off weight is, they have to compromise between fuel or passengers for that distance, at Cork, due to the shorter runway, they're even more restricted, as they can't get off the runway at Cork at MTOW, that needs 2400 Mtrs, which is not available there. Depending on which site you believe, the 737-800 max range can only be reached with 162 passengers on board.

Today, both the Belfast and Cork flights had to take extra passengers as a result of the cancellation yesterday of the Shannon flight, they'd have known before they left Cork that a stop was needed. Belfast might have been OK but Cork would not.

This SAAB 340A could be a regular visitor to Dublin, but it's a first for me.

Sure when the Cork crowd have the transatlantic flights it wouldn't take Kerry long to follow suit!

If you have passengers on board you are trying to impress it still sounds better than "Nortrans One Eight Two One" though ;)

A Virgin A330 flew low over my house this morning inbound to Snn.
A medical divertion? Didn't have time to check it out further. If medical, seems to be getting ever more frequent...1-2 a week now?
