I didn't see it, but I'd wager it's a new Cityjet Superjet flying from Prestwick on some sort of training flight. They were extremely common a few months ago, not so much now.

No we were coming back from DBV just a FR24 error!

Singapore airlines due to depart Shannon at 10:40 in the morning, is this a 747? Cargo I presume?

just saw 2 planes flying out Dublin almost side by side - is there a show on or they be in training?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,263 ✭✭✭robyntmorton

2 out of Dublin would be the Spanish F-18's.

    Practice run for Bray.

Delta DAL 44 New York - Dublin has just gone around at Dublin. I grabbed a pic as it flew low over the house and will post it shortly

B752 currently flying over the Midlands is Donald Trump's 757, N757AF.

Edit: Descending for approach to Shannon.

Heard on the atc feed that he wanted about 5 minutes of tracked flight to work something out. Nothing from it since then.

Go around of EI3265, or what happened there?

Listening back I think pilot says it was a low oil pressure warning.

They are spread out between Baldonnel, Weston and DUB. I think most are in Baldonnel.

They must have some amount of fuel onboard!
With the cost of saudi fuel it makes sense to tanker to max landing weight regardless of the additional burn off for carrying that fuel.
The aircraft would have being planned to land at MLW, the flap issue is something else, but if they really needed to, they could dump fuel.

Strangely I did the JED turn around last night and we tankered fuel into Saudi. May not have been due to price though as there is a requirement to have the fire service attend during fuelling if pax are onboard. Maybe the Company wish for a quick turn around too, but that didn't work out!

Do you know why they decided to burn off the fuel rather than dump?

"The flyover is scheduled to take place at 9.10pm, and will involve three planes swooping down over the stadium. "

Not sure if we'll be able to see this on F24 - but given the location of Croke park there is a good chance one might see these planes in the city this evening.

Any idea what's doing the flyover?

They flew over my house on their way back to Westin (at least, that's where I imagine they were headed....right direction for it anyway :D) Very cool, very loud and very fast. I didn't have a hope of getting a photo!
