EI- LAX is tech in the hangar, may need to go to Toulousee for repairs, EI- DUO is tech over in LAX I think, been a good few cancellations the last few days due to no available aircraft to lease.

When would they have to let flyers know - would they give some heads up - or just go to airport and find out? if re-route via LHR would the pre-clearance be lost, (i.e. have to do it again).

Of course pre-clearance would be lost....you'd be flying to the UK

Yes so like we would be told the flight would be cancelled before going through the whole process in Dublin. Flying in a week and was told by the car agency that we had a 2 hour window to pick up a car, so obv if were sent to London and then had to do clearance on arrival - we could be running 4/5 hours late - which will impact others we are travelling with who are on a different flight.

If they know in advance 12/24 hours before departure that it's canx then yes I'm sure they will give you a rebook option as early as possible.
However short of a crystal ball no one can know what will happen, EI-DUO is back flying today after a repair in Los Angeles, so EI-LAX is the only plane grounded at the moment, and they are hiring in a charter company to replace that aircraft so ideally there will be little or no disruption to schedule, but no one can't say for certain.

EI-LAX is parked on 138C at the moment, cleaners and caterers are on her at the moment so she might be back in business. EI-EWR is on 118C at the minute having engine runs

Probably diverting back to the Bombardier service centre in Biggin Hill. It only left Farnborough before heading West.

There are 2 Ryanair planes circling Dub right now. Both from Malaga, weird no?

They're like Dublin bus the way they all end up beside each other!

They weren't circling, just heading for RWY16!

Strange to see two from the one destination, both planned too!

Its an ex American Airlines, it was stored in 2015. I'd say it was converted to a cargo plane in Israel.

Yep, planespotters is usually accurate, converted last year according to them.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles to avoid the DRS fee.

Runway 16 is in use which reduces landing capacity and leads to more holding.

Medivac 117, the Waterford SAR helicopter transferring a patient to Dublin came in from Bray direction straight in to land Runway 34. 8 aircraft in the hold until he landed and then about another 8 holding while they cleared out. Doesn't take much at that hour when all the based aircraft are coming home to throw a spanner in the works!
