Was expecting the usual - Heavy on 28 returning and blocking it.

    The usual?

Other than EI-DUZ the other day and one a short while before that, I can't remember many events of this occuring.

I was joking, just because EIN and ETH both blocked it.

Is there a reason it leaves seattle as an EI reg, or is that a typo?

Cause it's Irish registered? Comes off a US reg after test flights.

Just looking at Florida there. Serious amount of private jets on the move. Compared to very little commercial traffic

These 757's have been operating since 2014, there's now 4 of them!

BDL is now a year old route too!

    AA 142 diverting to Dublin?

Edited....looks like it's heading to Shannon now.

Circling at FL 90 North of Shannon, decending.

Yup Shannon, suspected fuel leak. Runway inspection now in progress.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,185 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

Tomorrow may be a day to watch for go-arounds and in general difficult flying conditions. At the moment Shannon looks to be the worst, today's 5pm TAF gives 42kt gusts before the warning even begins. The usual windshear from the Lufthansa Hangar may contribute as the wind is blowing from the right of the runway as opposed to the left of the runway that we normally get during storms.

If Cork gets strong winds, there will be a large crosswind component on RWY16/34

    FR908 STN-ORK holding at Cork now 7000ft
    At the 6pm METAR it's 270 degrees 19 G 43, so quite a crosswind.

Update: Gust dropped to 30kts, will commence an approach.

Update 2: Landed, possible bird strike on landing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,185 ✭✭✭✭JCX BXC

    Drone sightings on the approach.

Early u-turn from London....ended up in DUB. Anyone listening in hear why?

Have they changed the runways in ORK? There was talk of that in 2014/15 but it got canned.

Actually, they haven't. I was trying to remember whether Knock or Cork had changed, it was actually Knock. My mistake. Still 17/35!

Booo. Can't remember the reason why it was put off. Emails in preparation for it were sent to the operators and then it got shelved.

The A319neo test aircraft is here in SNN doing the same thing aswell. Crosswind landings and a number of rejected take offs.

Strong winds at Atlanta airport, busiest airport in the world, causing issues at the moment. Despite numerous cancellations there are still long holds, go arounds and several diversions, including DL177 DUB-ATL which diverted to Detroit!

First landed in over an hour just now. The Georgian accent is quite noticeable, different to hear at least.

Looks like something to do with EI579?

    Yup, possible hydraulic leak.

Seems to be stuck on the taxiway, hope they get towed soon. All other landings are obviously required to exit on the high speed taxiway or before it.

Looks/sounds like they're keeping 28 open a bit longer tonight to keep delays down as much as they can.
