Bit strange, bcn weren't holding before the landing attempt and loads of planes landed before and after.

Aircrafts have different amounts of fuel on board, previous aircraft likely had much more fuel and could hold for a prolonged period.

It's also entirely at the crews discretion. If they feel they'd be safer/better off to divert from DUB, they'll do so.

The morning arrivals from North America have near supersonic ground speeds over the Atlantic. Expect them to arrive early.

Anyone know why the madrid flight is still circling by itself. Last few planes have landed

Rejected. Looked ok on the approach with some variance.

    And it's gone again!

As above, FR3979 (RYR4HZ) MAD-DUB gone around. And here's me thinking its all over!

Gusts of 41kts now, they took a while to make the approach, do they have some limiting factor?

FR3979 Still holding. One of the diverted Ryanair's on their way back to DUB.

Looks to be a few on the way back to DUB now.

The wind isn't letting up either where I am. I would imagine it's worse at the airport as it's quite open.

That Madrid flight still up there...

Looks to going now for attempt number two. Hopefully they'll get down. All have landed since.

No, Aer Lingus regularly send the A330 to Malaga during downtime between transatlantic operations.

It's a daily service for the summer season, has been running for years.

Two KLM flights to Dublin a few minutes apart.

Possibly an extra flight to to compensate for cancellations on Monday?

Think one was just running over an hour late

Would have thought they'd fly one bigger plane in that scenario...?

KL951 is a normal flight number as is KL937 - it doesn’t appear to be an extra.

KL951 operates on Mondays & Wednesdays, due out at 15:05 local (operated by Cityjet).
    KL937 operates daily at 16:05.

The first was simply an hour late.

Great to see the big four-engined birds landing in Shannon so frequently lately. Reminiscent of the 1970's or 80's!

Would these be normal cargo traffic delivering to Ireland or are they fuel stops?
