Any reason why they would go to EDI over SNN? I guess they have agents in EDI but surely better for pax to be on the island?

Airlines tend to divert to airports where they have handling agents.

Anyone any info on Cork Airport? Doesn't look like anything has left there this morning...

Apparently it's due to delays in the UK, however it's been snowing there for a while now so may be closed at this stage.

Yes, but it also serves passengers in Dublin coming from Addis Ababa and going to LAX.

I know. OH sitting on plane in SNN. She had to tell other passengers to sit down, they weren't in Dublin. They couldn't make out the announcements :)

10am. there is nothing landing or taking off at DUB for some time now. 2 x FR's have already diverted to Shannon and there are 7 x aircraft in two holds with more about to arrive.

UPDATE: One of the holding aircraft EI136 which had earlier diverted to Shannon is now going back to Shannon.

UPDATE 2: DUB Runway is currently closed.

All passengers off plane into holding area. Does this mean crew have probably gone over time, so can't go back to Dublin?

A Delta Jumbo well its big just flew past Blanchardstown and he was keeping the Revs up just in case I think. Theyre all revving like mad this morning is it heavier because of these snow showers?

No, there'd be no difference with the actual power settings today, just that with the cloud cover and snow the sound will travel much further and sound louder which is the effect you've noticed.

    It's in a hold.

Zero flow rate in Dublin currently, if you are carrying passengers you ain't landing as there is no parking available

If you want to park at a remote stand and have no passengers then you can land.
